Wedding Woes

Fri-yay

Wishing all a restful weekend!

Re: Fri-yay

  • I need to catch up on sleep!

Monday was my birthday but I had to travel for work and had an 8:20 flight so the day started with a 4:30 wake up to get to the airport.  No one was the wiser at work about it so it was both good to stay under the radar and I'm 46 now so I do not need to turn into a brat about it...but it was also a bit of a womp womp - especially with UConn losing the final game.

DH and the kids gave me cards and gifts Sunday night which was cute.  I'm kind of hoping to have at least cake and a good meal with him maybe this weekend.  I got home late Tuesday and Wednesday the kids had stuff, yesterday Chiquito had baseball and Scouts and Chiquita had to be at school at 6 because she is on a trip to NYC and gets home tonight.  So...it's kind of a bummed feeling yet we're all doing our own thing and I would not want that to stop either!  Just....hoping without saying anything that DH can pull it together but I know he's got so much on his mind too.
  • Happy birthday @banana468!!! I hope you have a great weekend!

Work today and some hours tomorrow but fingers crossed it looks like it can be from home. I’m happy it’s Friday!

Happy belated @banana468! Hope there is more celebrating this weekend!

Switched out the kids’ clothes this morning. We’re not quite ready for the spring/summer wardrobe but I wanted to get it done over spring break, so I left a few pairs of pants out (and they always have sweaters on had for layering) so it should be okay. Even though it’s only twice per year it’s a big job and I love when it’s over.

Bringing dinner to the family who lost their mom in a bit. Penne alla vodka and a side of broccoli are in the oven right now, I baked some cookies to go with them. I’m glad Meal Trains exist, but wish there was more I could do.

The weekend should be pretty lowkey. Definitely going to the ocean tomorrow morning for some Vitamin Sea, Mass on Sunday, but going to go with the flow otherwise.
  • Baby J slept well last night for the first time in a WHILE. Work was also nice and slow today so I snuck out for a run in the daytime!

I bought Olympic tickets for LA28 today! Prices were crazy for the big sports (I did pay way too much for one day of track) but also got tickets for women’s cricket and handball. Guess we have two years to learn about those sports!

It's so hard!  When BIL and SIL lost their daughter the one good thing was the meal train lasted months.  It also meant that they were visited at least briefly in that time.
