Groggy Monday

Anyone else kind of dragging?  I hope everyone's weekend was enjoyable.

@CharmedPam how are you feeling?

    The temp plummeted back down and it's doing all sorts of things to my sinuses (in addition to my allergies).  I feel like I'm slogging through the day.

    The weekend was really nice though.  Just a good mix of family time, lots of time spent outdoors (the Cherry Blossom trees here are in full bloom), some bike rides.  I discovered that my kids are old enough for What Do You Meme (with a scan through the deck and removal of certain cards), and that was a lot of fun.  Obama and Mamdami singing nursery rhymes to preschoolers ruled my feed all weekend and majorly filled my cup :)

    This work week *should* be pretty smooth.  Tonight is the kids' Drama Club Dinner Dance, we get dressed up, there's a DJ, it's a venue I've attended weddings at so I know the food is really good.  I'm sort of one of the head moms, and I chaired the gifts for the teachers involved, so I have to stand up and give a quick speech...emphasis on quick, I hope.  I hate public speaking.  Should be a fun night otherwise!
  • Weekend here was good. Saturday I did my long run and then we got the paddle boards out and got to spend about two hours on the water. It was really hot and sunny and I got a little burn. Then we had a game that night. Yesterday the temps here dropped a good bit so it was actually chilly in the morning. H has decided he wants to learn to play golf, so we went to a driving range and hit a few balls. It turns out I'm a lot better at it than he is, so I got to gloat a little, lol. Then mexican ended up involving a pitcher of margaritas, so I don't really feel like doing anything productive today.

    Oh what a weekend. The burn clinic called back late on Friday. I need to call scheduling. Not the actual clinic. That number is also a recording and you have to wait for them to call back. No receptionists ever now? It’s frustrating. Online scheduling looks like general booking and I don't know what doc to look up so it doesn’t help. But the instructions of post care from the ER seem to be good, and I think it’s getting better. The medspa hasn’t called me back. I actually contacted a lawyer.
    I stayed in and caught up on TV. But I was bored! Sunday night I felt fine enough to wrap my neck and go to a concert I paid good money for. My friend picked me up and dropped me off. At 2 am she texted us if any of us were sick to our stomachs because she was in pain on the bathroom floor. I didnt have the popcorn so I said I was fine? Turns out she also went into the ER that morning and has appendicitis. We were with her just a few hours ago and she was fine. Crazy how fast that happened.

    I love what do you meme @ei34, but without expansion packs, you can only play a box once or twice.
    @MyNameIsNot, kinda like when my ex and I went axe throwing and he was caught off guard (as was I) at how much better I was than him. The instructor told us women usually were at that.

  • Had a decently productive weekend.  Saturday Chiquita had her interview for her passport which went fine.  The trip to Canada was scrapped due to logistics issues but it's still a decent thing for her to have the document so we're going for it.  It means she has to apply for an entire new one when she's 19 (or 20 depending) but once it's set she's got it in the system and won't need to renew at an interval less than 10 yrs unless she gets married and changes her name.

    She stalled out cleaning her room so yesterday I got into the weeds with her and helped.  It was a lot of sorting, 3 bags of garbage and two of clothing to donate but it's progress.  It's not where she wants to be but where is is now is SO much improved.  Now the kids are back to school and it's a new qtr.  Here's hoping that the fire is lit under her to stay on top of things.
  • Make sure you’re taking a lot of pictures @charmedpam. I hope it continues to heal well. How is the pain?

    Sounds like a fun night! @ei34

    lol @MyNameIsNot

    Work today and tomorrow and then I’m off the rest of the week. SIL decided on a staycation for her bday events. We’re doing an escape room and a pool day. Yesterday H and I went to brunch with family and it was really nice. Then we walked around and went to two museums (it was get in free to the second one). I’ve been wanting to go for a long time and the chances of us doing it later this week with SIL and her H are either zero, or we’d go and they’d be be bored after twenty minutes and we’d have to rush through.

  • OMG @CharmedPam how scary?! Hop you get some relief soon.

    Last week was chaos at work; onsite, a ton of issues, and my best employee is leaving to literally travel the world. Awesome for her, terrible for me.
