Wedding Woes

Fri-yay

We made it!  Wishing all an enjoyable weekend!

Re: Fri-yay

  • Finally Friday! It’s my weekend of musicals and plays. Tonight is Heartbreak Hotel (local theatre), tomorrow is Theatre of the mind (Chicago) and Covenant (Chicago), and Sunday is Father of the Bride the musical (local theatre). My butt will be numb from all the sitting. Last night it was when we went for a 2 hr fashion show at a nearby college. I’ve been going for 3 years and always SUPER impressed with the pieces that come out of these students. They also showcase some high school students work and the talent always gets to me too. One woman at the college level did a black/red gothic theme with some amazing material and I wanted her line for my visit to Dracula’s castle. Nothing’s up for sale, but there were a lot of “I could wear that out” designs - along with some that were runway views only.

How was your DD’s bday and pick up @ei34?

DD had a very happy birthday and exH wasn't too annoying.  The girls have a softball game this evening and I'll try and get some house cleaning done before then.

It's not supposed to rain all weekend for the first time in several weeks, which will be really nice.  I have some errands to run, lots of yard work and some planting/gardening.  Otherwise downtime, mass, and some fun with the kids -movie, bike riding,  table games, a new baking recipe.

    Busy day!

It POURED yesterday and Chiquito's baseball game was cancelled.  It was possibly moved to tonight but due to the other team not able to make it it's going to be rescheduled for another time.  Chiquita is participating in a series of 1 act plays.  She's in the first one and I think there a are 4 including 1 that has some heavy subject matter.  It's The Care and Feeding of Baby Birds and if you search it you can see what the underlying subject is.  I'm glad that is NOT what she is in and am prepped to have some serious tears.

It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood here.  The sun is shining, and a cool breeze is blowing.  It's supposed to be nice but humid all weekend.

Yesterday was a tough one.  DH hadn't slept well and was just off all day.  He would say one thing and mean another.  We had an appointment in the early afternoon, and afterward I was going to run errands.  When we got in the car after the appointment, I asked him if he wanted me to take him home, and he said, "Yeah, you better".  So I'm heading home to drop him off, and he asks where we're going.  I told him "home" because you wanted that.  He got all frustrated at me and said I had asked him if he felt up to going along for errands,s and he said yes.  It was like that all day.  I'm sure it's frustrating for him also because he doesn't think I listen to him.  But what he's thinking is coming out the opposite.  Fortunately, tough days like this are not our usual.

I was able to get my errands run, get him settled at home, and then go to the garden center for some hanging planters.  I'd like to get one more for the front of the house, but will wait to find one at a big box store that needs "adopting".

Tomorrow I'm volunteering at our church's booth for the local Pride Fest.  Our theme is Chosen Family - You Belong Here.  We're having homemade cookies, games and temporary tattoos.  It should be fun.

Sunday, we're going up to see DH's sister in her facility.  One of his other sisters and her son are going along.  There is a chance of severe weather in the late afternoon, and we'll need to watch the weather.

@short+sassy wishing you a quicker than expected recovery! And thanks for the recommendation with the creamer! I really like the Fairlife protein shakes so I'm going to see if they have a vanilla one to try. I used to use Chike however that had me buzzing with way too much caffeine.

@VarunaTT is the move to PA temporary or permanent?

@mmnebride that's so hard. My dad does similar things, and he also will say one thing and then just completely forget and then get frustrated because he feels like he's being ignored.

Work today. Ready for the weekend. I have a nail appointment tomorrow and then we might see SIL A and her H. Otherwise, not too much to report.

  • I'm ready for the weekend too! It's been a really long week with work. We spent all day M-Th on site doing this end to end process mapping. It's exhausting! We wrapped up virtually this morning and now I've got a couple of hours to try to do all the actual work that I ignored all week, but instead I'm here for Prudie.

Weekend should be good. Weather here is gorgeous and we don't really have any plans set yet, so we should be able to get out and do some hiking or get on the river or something.

That sounds so very hard @MNNEBride, I'm sorry

Hope all who have beautiful weather enjoy their outside plans!
  • This weekend is low key. It is suppose to rain some but there should be time for H to get more outside stuff done. LOL I just point and say that something needs to be done - the advantage of having had surgery. I realized yesterday that next weekend is Memorial Day weekend which in Indianapolis means race weekend. We always have company for the race. I'll need to get things ready for them. DS2 is also coming home for the weekend. He hasn't seen these family friends for a while so he decided to come see them.

I watched the last two episodes of Outlander and was teary during the entire last episode. I didn't like the way it ended. I want Diana Galbadon to finish the last book so that the story will be wrapped. I have read all the books and hate that it is taking so long for the last one. FWP.

    Have a great weekend everyone.
