I got a lot of yard work and planting done.  Now just settling into Monday mode and trying to gear up for a long week.  We have a long weekend looming and the students are going to be pretty wild.

Had a fantastic weekend. We choose three productions all set in the 50’s. Well, Elvis spanned from the 40’s - 60’s.  It was so ironic after we saw Father of the Bride, I put that together.
Today is boring SS DD going on. On Thursday, I Spent my lunch hour having to hear what an amazing person my coworker is (from herself), how she does everything in the office herself, talks people off the ledge, works the hardest, etc. This is nothing new, mind you. I have no idea how she gets her head through the door with it being as big as it is. I really had to call lunch over and get up when she got to the part of why she accepted the position she is in now 6 years ago.  It was to save my job. There wasn’t enough work for three people. So. To “save me” she’d have to move up. I guess I should worship the ground she walks on? Except she lies SO much (I caught her on plenty) I don’t believe that for a second. I know why they urged her into that position. She’s lies so much she probably doesn’t even know what’s real anymore. Maybe a WFH position won’t be terrible. There’s talk that at the complete merger we may just be wfh anyway (no idea how true this is). I wouldn’t have to hear how she single handily keeps this company together.

Weekend was nice, my parents are here so lots of family time and extra hands with kiddos. We grilled and did smores in the fire pit and played in the sprinklers - so definitely a fun weekend. Busy work day and then i'm traveling T-Th so have to pack today as well.

Hope everyone had a nice weekend!

    That's annoying @CharmedPam

I hope everyone had a good weekend! Weekend here was okay. SIL kind of bailed on hanging out on Saturday. I wouldn't have minded except I had to chase her down (via text) to ask. She is so conflict avoidant. I'm not going to be mad you cancel, but I am annoyed you waited until almost the evening to tell us. We could have structured our day differently. Yesterday was pretty low key. H and I just took care of stuff around the house and did a workout. Then we sat in the backyard for sunset. It's that time of year where it's really nice outside for a second before it becomes nine thousand degrees.

    Otherwise, SSDD here.

Our plans didn't work out this weekend because DH was feeling up to it.  So we pivoted.  Saturday, I couldn't get away to volunteer, so I remade the cemetery flower pot for his side of the family.  Sunday, I tackled laundry mountain.  I got everything washed, dried and folded.  Now it just needs to be put away.

@ei34 - doesn't it feel good to be outside and get the yard looking good?

  • Wel I was recovering from strep most of the weekend and H was at a bachelor party. The boys spent so much time playing outside it was great; they asked for breakfast outside at like 6:45 this morning!

  • Feel better soon @charlotte989875.

Weekend was quiet. H has been tackling yard stuff. Mulch is to be delivered this week. We have a landscaper who will be doing some repair to a stone wall around the side of the house. It had moved which made our gas meter move. That in turn caused a gas leak. Landscaping is not cheap! I got laundry done but not much else other than walks in both days. Saturday was cold and rainy so I went to the Y and used the treadmill. Sunday was hot and sunny so H and I went to the nearby state park for a walk. I've also been reading more. I think I have now finished 8 or 9 books since my back surgery.

We have company coming for the Indy 500 this weekend. I need to do some housework which I haven't really done since the surgery. I've had a cleaning company come every other week. However they don't do the areas we don't use much - like the guest room and the second floor (where our kids' rooms are). It has been nice having this service and I'm keeping it for probably another month, but they don't do a great job. FWP
  • No fun @charolette989875, well ONE of you may had fun
