Another Introduction

Hi...I've been a member of the knot for a bit, but haven't posted much and I don't think at all on the Houston board.  My name is Marcella and my FI's name is Graham.  FI lives in the UK and I live in Cypress.  We've been dating long distance for over 2 1/2 years...it will be 3 years when we marry in November.  I met him while traveling on business.  I've got most of the wedding planning done...just small things left.  Here is a list of vendors:Ceremony & Reception: Shirley AcresPhotog: Evoke Video: A&EFlorist, Cake, Officiant & DJ through Shirely AcresHair & Makeup - Most likely Katrina @ Highland Salon in KatyLook forward to getting to know all of you!

Hi everyone...thank you for the warm welcome! I will be living in the UK just outside of London!  I am excited and at the same time nervous, b/c I have a 4 year old daughter and I worry about her transition. We try to see eachother once a month, but recently it's been every 6 to 8 weeks.  In previus years, I went there 1 month and he came here the next month, for a few days and so on.  this year, b/c of the wedding, he is coming here more than I am going there.  I won't be going back until after the wedding...the move date is planned for Jan.

Wow, that's cool you got to see each other once a month and your moving there. My FI lives in California and I see him maybe every two months it just varies. Good luck with the wedding planning. I wanted to get married at Shirley Acres but wasn't in my budget. It's a really pretty place.

Oh that will be nice!  I see I am not the only one who will be away from hubby for a bit, once married.

Yup, I'll be married for 6 months before we live in the same place again. At least after we are married when I go visit he will have a home for me to stay at. woohoo

TXbootsy, thanks so much!I plan to take a few months off, while daughter and I get settled.  Then there is a good chance I could work with the UK branch of the company I currently work for.  FI is asking around and it's promising.  The only issue I have with that is commuting on the train for an hr each way...not the commute so much, but being that far away from daughter in case of an emergency.  I will most likely work part-time though, so may not be too much of an issue.
