Hi Ladies.  I have been lurking for a month or so, but have not really had the opportunity to post anything. (Since I am at work and all, but today is slow!)  My name is Heather and my fiancé is David.  We have been dating for 5 years and got engaged in January.   We are planning a long engagement since my parents live overseas and  are paying for a majority of the wedding ourselves.  We are getting married November 20, 2010 with  our reception at Willow Fork Country Club in Katy.  We have a meeting next week with a potential photographer. (Has anyone had experience with Love Lee Photography?)  That is all the planning we have done so far.  I hope that everyone is having a great Friday!

CONGRATS AND WELCOME!!! So what colors are you going with?  How did you and Fi meet?  What side of town are you one?  Tell us more we like details.... I have not heard anything bad about love lee, just don't know much about them.

Thanks everyone.  FI and I met when I was still in college.  My friend had been trying to set me up with him for quite some time.  He was living in Austin and came in town for either Homecoming or Steps, I do not remember which one.  We met and hit it off.  He is a tad bit older than me.  I am 25 and he is 34.  In our defense we did not know how old the other one was until 6 months in and it didn't matter by that time.We live in Old Katy.  FI grew there and we will be moving into the house he grew up in before the wedding.  I do not know many people in this area, so it is still growing on me. I told FI to pick a color and I could work with it and he picked green.  We decided on having black, white, and green.  I wanted a lime green like actual color of a lime, but everything I am seeing is something a 5 yr old would wear to a dance recital.  Right now I am kinda leaning towards ivory, sage, and gray. I will be needing lots of recs and advice so thanks in advance for the help.

Oh yeah I forgot to add that my parents live in Bahrain.  It is in the Middle East right by Saudi Arabia.  My dad works for Chevron and actually had to request off last year for our next year wedding.  Everyone wants to have off around the holidays.  My mom is actually here for the summer and is helping with the planning.  Which is another reason I would like to get as much done as I can so that she can be here.

Heather:Woot! Another Katy Bride!!!  yay!  You will have to come to a Katy g2g the next time we have one!Willowfork looks really pretty on thier website, I really liked it.I live more towards Cinco Ranch area of Katy.  FI is a native of Katy as well (he prob knows or remebers your fi, did he play football) but his family lives in what used to be 'the country' and is now near Grayson Lakes.Where are you from? Also, there is an off leash dog park in Old Katy that I go to often.  Do you have any furbabies?

Elizabeth-I live right by the dog park.  I can literally walk to it from my house.  I have a dog who thinks she is a 2 yr old child.  We don't take her out much bc she does not like other dogs.  She loves people.  I would love to come to the next G2G.

Awww, too bad she isn't sociable with other dogs.  What kind of dog is it? We have a big yellow lab, Betsy, and she is the friendliest dog on the planet.The dog park is my fav place on a Saturday morning.  The Katy one didn't have water in the pond last time I went, so we have been going to the big one on Westhiemer pkwy.
