Unity Candle w/ Divorced Parents

Okay... here is my situation...I love the unity candle, but both our parents are divorced.  I've read where some people have just the moms lite it, but I want to include everyone since we get along with all our parents.  I was thinking about having four candles... one for each set of parents to lite.  Then we would each take two candles and lite one.  Does this seem too strange?  Your opinions please.  Or if you have a good idea, please let me know. Thanks for any help!

If all of your parents get along, then why not just have everyone walk up together?  For example:  On his side his dad walks his step-mom and his step-dad walks his mom.   Then the Mom and Dad light then candle together and the same for your side.  That way everyone is included. My parents are divorced and re-married and his parents are still married.  His Mom and Dad went up, of course, and then I just had my older brother escort my Mom up for my side.  I don't think anyone felt left out b/c we included them in other ways.  My step-dad walked me halfway down the aisle to my Dad, and we gave roses to the Mom's - including my step-mom after the ceremony.

I'm not doing a unity candle, but if I were, I'd have my parents walk up and light the candle. yes, they're divorced, but they are my parents and they are civil to one another. if you have to include the stepparents, then have all 4 light the candle. if everyone can get along long enough to get through your wedding day, they can get along for long enough to light a candle.

Just our moms are lighting the unity candle.  But we're having his children light it with us, so we'll have 5 taper candles instead of the traditional two.  I think it's your wedding, so whatever you want, goes.
