rec your shampoo/conditioner

lately my shampoo is not leaving my hair "pretty" :-\ Today I'm on the search of something new/diff. I was currently using fructis. Prior to this (about 6 months ago) I only used pantene.

I love pantene... smooth... the letters on it are green. Fructis smells pretty but I've never used it.

I am a fructis user, I just switched to the one that is supposed to add "body" to your hair. I have used Redken and Thermasilk and was happy with those as wellMy bf used Dove and it left her hair oily she said, she switched to Fructis.

You can try the Nexxus line or Biolage.   It really just depends on your hair and what works for some may not work for others, so it's kind of a trial and error method.

it all depends on the type of hair you have.  I have super oily hair and basically change shampoos after I finish a bottle.  I tend to use salon products like biolage and right now I have a redkin product which works well. I highly recommend Nutragena clarifying shampoo.  Its meant to be used once weekly, and it helps clear the residues and make your regular shampoo work better.   I have had one bottle of that stuff for almost a year now.

i have very dry hair =( boo! and its thin. bleh! I'm hoping to get a body wave perm this or next week to give it a little life. I've used dove... and yes, it left my hair really oily. I was thinking of thermasilk... hmmm. Looks like I will be spending alot of time in that aisle later today.

I never liked fructis, it always left my hair greasy looking after about a week.I use Bed Head almost exclusively, with a break once a week to wash my hair with Pantene clarifying shampoo to get gunk build-up off. the formulas from Bed Head that work with my hair are Superstar (it's a volumizing shampoo, but it is also sulfate-free for those with colored hair) and Brunette Goddess.brands I've liked in the past were Redken, Biolage, and Alterna. I've heard LOTS of recommendations for Aveda, but can't bring myself to buy it just yet.

and Thermasilk is no longer an active brand (which sucks because I LOVED their leave-in conditioner). the closest to it is Sunsilk.

I use Bed Head religiously too...Toni & Guy will have buy 1 get 1 free sales a few times a year, so I usually stock up for the year at these events...You can mix/match your shampoo/conditioner (I use moisture maniac for shampoo but brunette goddess for conditioner). I also use Infusium leave-in conditioner a few times a week to help out the dry ends I get from too much straightening. Hope that helps!

i love the bed head products too. but i dont buy them often..and have been switching alot lately. just body the fructis one for body also, so far i like it. before i started switching i was using the loreal vive for long hair, but my stylist said it was leaving lots of waxy buildup in my hair so i switched to pantene for long hair...but decided to try fructis this last time. lol i asked for bed head for christmas. hahaha

Zurita do you shop at Ulta?  If you're a rewards member, you get their ad in the mail and it has coupons.  I currently have a $5 off $10 purchase which is awesome when I have to purchase hair products.

I swear by salon products for your hair. Aveda works well. Biolage and Big Sexy Hair (and the soymilk big sexy line) work great too. I use different shampoo/conditioners when I want different results from my hair. You just need to see how your hair reacts to the shampoo/conditioner.

yes, what jorge said. once I switched to salon products, I noticed a huge improvement in my hair texture and volume. I rarely heat style my hair now because the shampoo and conditioner do most of the work.

I love Aussie shampoo, and right now I'm using Herbal Essence for long hair. I just bought Ulta brand shampoo/conditioner for red hair (the only one I can find for red hair that isn't just for color treated red hair...). I'm not a huge fan of it, it doesn't seem to be bringing out the color. On the other hand, I used my friends John Frieda for brunettes and it made my hair really shiny and soft. Maybe my hair just wants to be brunette?

I love Aveda products but they're fairly expensive. Loreal has a new line called Ever Pure that is vegan and works amazingly and smells great - very similar to Aveda.
