Wedding Vows & Ceremony Discussions

Including some one special?

My fiance and I want to include my daughter (who will be 4 at the wedding) in the ceremony in a...more predominate way than just as our flower girl. We were hoping some parents here might give us ideas on how to include her in the vows section of our wedding...Any ideas anyone?

I read the first two responces and decided I should probably clarify a little...he wants to make her a promise when we say our vows, as he is not her father, but will be her "Dad."

[QUOTE]Second Weddings has a stickied thread on this. She's really too young to understand this, though, so anything you do will be for you.

<div>It's important to remember that a marriage is between adults, and that kids really shouldn't be asked to take part in any kind of vows or promises.   They are really too young to understand and appreciate it, and after all, the decision to get married belongs to you and your fiance, and your child had no part in it.   </div><div>
</div><div>Having said that, I think it's perfectly appropriate to make inlcude parenting and family in your vows to each other.    </div><div>

  • I have seen some people have their kids add sand to the unity sand jars, as like a family thing.  It is really cute and a great way to make it about the FAMILY coming together as one unit.
