DJ Advice... :-/

Hi Knotties!

So, I know there are several posts out there regarding DJ's.  I'm kinda having a bit of battle of what DJ prices should be with my FI.  For what we want, we need a DJ that is available to us for about 7-8 hours, be the MC, provide up-lighting and if possible the monogram. This DJ needs to be well rounded with Spanish music.  Now, I believe a reasonable price for what we are asking for should range anywhere between $1200 -$2500.  We would like to stay within $1200-$1800 price range.  

Now here is where he comes into play.  He thinks that even that price range is too much!!  Are you kidding me?!  He is thinking more like $600 for DJ!!  I told him this is NOT Miami where DJ's are a dime a dozen.  Do you have any suggestions for me?? Is there even a GOOD DJ for that price that will provide what we are looking for?? I'm getting ready to pull my hair out!

    your dj needs to provide a monogram?.... do you mean gobo for the monogram?

    has he seen any of the research you have done so he can see actual pricing? get him involved and he might change his tune :)

    We are using the same DJ my sister used for her wedding last April, Jonny from space city entertainment, he did a very good job, my family loved him and his pricing is reasonable.  besides djing, we are also getting up lights and a name thingy on the dance floor. check his rates, he should be within your budget.  good luck Knottie!

    Thank you ladies for the advice!  

    This really helps out.  I was just ready to pull my hair out last night when I was talking with FI regarding the DJ.  I will definitely look into the Space City Entertainment packages.  

    @ TXsun...yes, he has seen the research that I have done.  But for some reason he just still thinks that some of the prices are too much.  I'm just getting ready to punch him in the head! LOL  J/K   

    I will keep you Knotties posted on what happens with our DJ dilemma. :)

    I used Elegante Entertainment and Fransisco was amazing. We didn't get everything you were talking about but I'm pretty sure he provides it. Here is his website. 


    I highly recommend him. He made our wedding perfect this past weekend.
