Wedding Dress Shopping- any suggestions where to go?

Just wondering if anyone can give me some suggestions on where to find a wedding dress. I am new to Houston so any help would be much appreciated!!

Honey, Houston is full of Bridal Salons!! Since you are new here, I suggest you go to the Bridal Extravaganza Show in January and get as many ideas as possible!! There are so many in this city!! Good Luck!!!!

I got mine at Ventura's Bridal.

I have heard great reviews for Brickhouse Bridal, Winnie Couture, and Priscilla of Boston. I have heard mixed reviews for Weddings by Debbie.

I really liked Houston Bridal Gallery and Brickhouse Bridal (where I ended up getting my dress).  If you buy a dress on the day of your first appointment at Brickhouse Bridal you get 10% off - it may be worth waiting to go there until you have an idea what you want.

Not sure where you live but I had a great experience at Davids Bridal on El Dorado.

I bought mine at Weddings by Debbie and had a great experience - and can't imagine having worn any other dress on our wedding day!

I did also go to Brickhouse Bridal (The Woodlands) first, and had a wonderful experience there as well.

Both places give you the first day discount, so like PP said, I would recommend browsing around other places first so you can get an idea of what you want.  I looked at a few salons in Boston when I was up there visiting my sister - that really helped me know what I liked before I came home and got serious about buying one.

I also recommend Brickhouse Bridal (where I purchased my dress) and Houston Bridal Gallery.  Beautiful, reasonably priced dresses and kind service at both.  I had a horrible experience at Weddings by Debbie.

I’ve been all over Houston – Parvani Vida, Weddings by Debbie, Ventura’s, Marry Go Round, to name a few, and have been pleased with the service at all of them. The one that stood out, however, was Misora Bridal Boutique. The ladies there exhibited the most professionalism and attention to detail. The shop is smaller than most, but has a good variety of gowns. I plan to order my dress from them next week and could not be more excited!

 

Although my dress was available at a few other Houston stores, I ultimately decided to purchase from Misora because of the level of service. I’ve read several horror stories about brides who have received great service up until the point of purchasing their dress and it goes downhill after the sale is made. That certainly played a factor in my decision to purchase my dress from Misora, as I could tell the owner and the staff take a true interest in their brides.

 

Also, for the dresses that I was most interested in, the prices were very competitive with other stores.
