Sapphire and Diamonds for wedding jewelry?

Hello all!
So my future father in law recently went over seas. While he was there he bought me a beautiful diamond and sapphire necklace and matching earrings. They are beautiful and Sapphire is my birthstone. He wants me to wear it on my wedding day but its not exactly what i had envisioned i'd wear on my wedding day. My dress is ivory with beading..do you think it would match. I would probably buy a diamond/sapphire bracelet to go. So...like i said..does this work together? Im just afraid the colored gems may not work with the ivory tone of my dress...HELP!

I'm a September girl too and I was actually considering wearing sapphire as my something blue.... My dress is ivory and I don't think it will look bad.

ok cool, and i'm wearing a broach in my hair as opposed to a tiara so i will try and find a sapphire broach as well.

just try it on and see! lol - if you don't like it, but still want to wear it for your FIL's sake...maybe you could change jewelry between the wedding & reception. I reallllly wanted to wear onyx jewelry for my wedding but it would've just taken all the attention away from the dress.  I think it all depends on the style of your dress and the style of the jewelry - without us all seeing pics, it'd be hard to say for sure. so try them on!
