venues in galveston

hi every one i'm Lauren i'm new to all this. i just started planning and i feel super overwhelmed... altho i'm love it all at the same time!!

i'm getting married in Galveston on the beach by my beach house. but i'm looking for a venue to have my reception do ya'll have any ideas??  but i would like to keep the cost down... please help

    I've heard a lot of good things about the Roof Garden from my sister, who's catered many weddings and receptions there. It's on the Strand, though, so I don't know if that's too far from the beach wedding.

    How formal a reception are you planning? Many of the historic homes are available to rent for special occasions, or you could check pricing at some of the hotels on the Seawall (I lovelovelove the Galvez and have seen a couple events there, always turn out beautifully).

    Have you thought about having the reception outside at the beach house? A friend of mine did that and it was really beautiful. I really felt like I was at a destination wedding. ~Kim

    thank  you every one it really helped. my wedding is informal i'm getting a knee lenght dress its going to have like a 1950 syle kinda
    i've thought about the beach house thats still up in the air i'm trying to dicided

    not sure if anyone mentioned this, but have you thought about doing it on a boat? Star fleet yacht is good and there are a few others. just an ideaSmile

    I am getting married in Galveston next July. I'm having my reception at Garten Verein which is a part of Galveston Historical Society. I feel that it's a beautiful reception venue and it supports a good cause in the city. I hope you're successful in your search! Here's the link :
