WHERE TO START LOOKING FOR A DRESS

Hey to all Houston brides!  Where did you get your dress?  I haven't ventured out yet because I don't know where to start.  I have quite a while still but I'd like to start at least looking for "the dress", you know? So, I figure if there is a common shop in Houston amongst y'all that I would start there at least as a springboard.

Thanks!!

just depends on what you're looking for and your budget really...

i didnt much care about mine too much...DH's aunt worked at david's bridal...i went there.

My best friend...I went with her to Winnie Couture, Ventura's Bridal, and Weddings by Debbie...she got her dress at Weddings by Debbie and it was by far our favorite experience of the 3.

What is your budget?  I ordered mine from Winnie Couture but looked everywhere in town, I think!

I've been to Alfred Angelo, Brickhouse Bridal, and Ventura's. I still have one more dress to try on at one more shop before I order, but it looks like it's going to come from AA.

I haven't started for myself, but when I was a bridesmaid I went to Weddings by Debbie & Ventura's. Weddings by Debbie is a gorgeous store - really nice.

Next week I am going to Now & Forever bridal boutique, just because it is close by.

I went to Alfred Angelo on Post Oak.  Their customer service was great, the dress came and the alterations just took one visit.  Everyone was really helpful. I went to one other place but didn't find anything there.

I bought my dress from Brickhouse Bridal. I'm very happy with the experience and my dress (which came in a couple weeks ago). I have also had 3 friends find their dresses at Brickhouse. My budget was $1500, just to give you and idea but I know that have less expensive and more expensive dresses as well.

i got my dress at maison de mode in rice village. it's a small boutique but they have a good selection of quality dresses in a variety of prices -- and they are really great to work with! i loved getting my dress in a smaller place that wasnt so crowded and overwhelming - when you make an appointment it is usually just you and your consultant there. - http://maisondemode.com/

i also had a good experience at priscilla of boston and alfred angelo in meyerland.

I got mine at Alfred Angelo in Meyerland.  I wasn't wanting to spend a lot of money and I found a dress within my budget. I love it!

Thank you so much for all the suggestions!  I have a price in mind BUT I'll be operating under the "if it's the perfect dress, then price doesn't matter" mentality.  My FH told me to get what makes me happy and I plan to do that.  Smile

    Weddings by Debbie - Katy
    Viktoryia Bridal- Kingswood
    Alfred Angelo - Meyerland
    Venture's - Houston
    David's Bridal- Sugarland

These are all the places I went to looking for a dress.  The standout was Weddings by Debbie, in the end they did not carry the brand I chose, but I did go back to them for bridesmaid dresses.  I am ordering my dress from Victoryia's Bridal she is fantastic. She is great with alterations. The store it self  is elegant  with a small, but beautiful dress selection.

I HIGHLY recommend The Princess Bridal in Old Town Spring. It's in an old victorian house. The owner is very helpful and helped me find THE dress. A+ experience, and great prices also.
