Reviews!

Married 09.10.11
A little late, but I am writing these reviews, knowing that I was helped by so many of the reviews that are posted on The Knot!
Forgive the difference in text I copied and pasted a couple of the reviews I already wrote!

Venue - Ashton Gardens
Ashton Gardens was amazing.  It is a little pricey, but the quality is definitely worth it! There were no glitches, my coordinator took care of everything.  The food was soooo great.  We got so many compliments on how it wasn't deemed to our guest as "wedding food".  I have absolutely no complaints whatsoever. Anytime I needed to go to look at something at the venue or had any questions it was no problem.  My coordinator always responded quickly.  and it makes for beautiful pictures!! Something I didn't know - I believe its 15 kids eat for free, after that they eat for half price.  and they actually reimbursed me for people we paid to eat that didn't show up!! I had no idea they would do that..

Photographer - Billie Roche Photography
This is a husband and wife team.  Billie does most of the shooting and editing.. her husband is her assistant.. They were a great team to work with.. very laid back and produced amazing photos.. They have more of a candid and vintage style.. but very classic.. We booked them for engagement and wedding.  During the wedding they were very good about not pulling us away from enjoying ourselves.. they had us let them know when we were ready to take certain pictures and things like that. not rushing us around like I have seen before at weddings.. We actually got to enjoy our wedding day! I also think the pricing is great for the quality of the pictures taken and the packages she offers can be customized..

DJ - Space City Entertainment
Jason from Space City was my DJ. He was great.  He also did a great job as the MC . Everyone knew what was happening and he got them excited for it! He played exactly what we requested him to and played for the crowd! Everyone raved about the DJ. I booked them when Johnny Black was also with Space City, but my wedding was after they stopped working together...  I still got amazing service, still professional, wouldn't of known if Jason hadn't told us they went there separate ways.. (Just in case your wondering if service is still great without J.B) I also booked them for the photobooth.  It was a HIT! Everyone loved it! The pictures were good quality.. and they also had props to use..

Florist - Striking Stems
Sandy and Ashley were great to work with. As soon as my mom and I met with them, we knew they would be our florist. We got such a great vibe from them. We ordered mock centerpieces and loved them. Before we ordered a mock centerpiece from another florist and the one from striking stems just came out wayyy better. They were very easy to work with. We made multiple changes (adds) and what not to our contract and they gave us an updated invoice shortly after each time. They had no issue if we forgot to add something or anything like that. all of the flowers they provided were amazing. The bouquets, boutonnieres, corsages down to the toss bouquet (which i wanted to keep and not toss!) turned out beautiful. They got my vision and the centerpieces they provided really just sealed the deal on all of my little details. Extremely happy with this vendor!

Cake - Sweet Delights
My wedding cake was so amazing. It was beyond what I could of dreamt of. The cake was full of flavor and decorated just as we discussed. It came out beautifully. It was very fresh and I even had leftovers for over a week and till the day the cake was gone, it was still fresh. I have no complaints whatsoever about Sweet Delights. Ms. Rosyln was a great vendor to work with, she was very nice, sweet and caring. I felt like more that just a customer for her. I changed the grooms cake at the last minute due to budgeting and had to go over it with her assistant as she was out delivering a cake. So I was a little hesitant on not knowing whether she would get my vision.. but when I saw it on the wedding day, it came out better than I saw it in my head. Everything was perfect and beautiful. Plus I had a swirl theme going and she didn't just use any cake stand, but one that matched our motif.. without us even asking. Couldnt of had a better cake. So happy with Sweet Delights!!

Ceremony Music - Acoustic Productions
Acoustic Production played amazingly at my wedding. I hired them to do the preservice and ceremony music. We booked them without meeting and sent the deposit in. I saw a couple of other reviews and watched some videos of them playing online. Not meeting kind of made me nervous. But Danny answered any questions I had and we emailed through out the process to make sure the songs I wanted to be played were played. When I was waiting to walk down the aisle, I could hear the music and I started to tear up. It was all so beautiful. He sang "At Last" during my walk down and it couldnt have went better. I got lots of compliments and comments about the music. It was just overall great service.

Videographer - Bella Vista Productions
Having a videographer was important to me, but I couldn't convince my parents or husband that it was a priority.. About 10 days before the wedding my parents told me that we could go ahead and book one! I was so flustered trying to find one! I had my eye on Bella Vista before, but didn't think they were going to be available still due to my wedding date being popular. (09.10.11) To my surprise they were! We emailed them and met with them a couple of days later at their viewing room.  My parents and (now) husband came to the meeting.. After the videos they all were wowed.. My dad and husband said that they had been convinced that videography was a MUST! My dad could not stop talking all night about them.  And if you know my dad then you know changing his mind is rare!! Virginia and Robert were great to work with, they stayed out of the way, but kept in the action.. I noticed them, but it didn't feel like they were imposing.. Can't wait to see the video!! (Definitely also are accommodating with payment plans! )

Wedding Dress - Brickhouse Bridal
My consultant was great, but I bought the dress July of 2010, so I can't remember her name!! : /
If you buy your dress on your first visit, they give you 10 percent off.. BUT I said something about losing weight to the girl who checked me out (I was about 5 pounds from my goal weight) and I was deciding between the 8 & 10.. and I said something about getting the 8 and she was like well get the bigger one, because ppl say they are going to lose weight and never do.. And not in a ohhh I'm trying to be nice way.. She said it very rudely.. I was like.. um ookkk..

Bridesmaids Dresses - Dessy Group
I actually ordered my bridesmaids dresses from Pearl's Place in Louisiana because I heard of alot of ppl doing that hear on The Knot.. You don't pay taxes and the dresses were about 50 dollars cheaper.. The shipping was super cheap.. maybe 20 bucks or less.. for 4 dresses.. They came earlier than expected.  FYI Dessy runs a bit big! But the dresses were gorgeous!

Hair and Makeup - Hair by Liz
Great to work with! Her assistant did my make up for my engagement photos as my "trial". And she did my hair both times.. She did hair and makeup for all of my bridesmaids (cheaper than going to visible changes or somewhere like that) and the Mothers and of course, myself. Fast, efficient. The airbrushing was nice. Loved my hair! No complaints!

Linens - Wedding Linens direct . com
Always fast shipping.  We ordered chair covers, sashes and table cloths.. No issues with the products! Exactly what I was looking for!

I think thats it!! I know it was long, but hopefully it helps someone out!! : ) .

    Hi Rachel,

Your reviews were very helpful as I'm just starting my planning. Ashton Gardens is very pretty, I know you mentioned it's a little pricy, but since budget is of the essence to me, can you give me a ballpark on budget for them please? That would be very helpful.

I also love all your other great reviews, now I know whwere to turn to! Thanks

it varies depending on the day and time.. we did a Saturday Afternoon, and it ran us around $16,000.  A little steep, but that is the chapel, the reception hall, the coordinator, food, centerpieces (if you want the ones they provide), linens, security...and really top notch service.. : ) . I may be forgetting other things included.. but thats all I can think of right now!
