Wedding Photos/Video

Who are you guys using for your wedding photography? Is anyone doing Videos?

My budget is $10,00 and it looks like my venue would cost me about 5,000-6,000. (not sure yet)
So my next step is to find a photographer/videographer. But all the packages I see start at $2,095. Is that a reasonable price.

I basically want photos of my ceremony and reception and a possible video of the ceremony. I will also want to do a bridal session which will be extra.

I don't need engagement phots, we opted out of this since we have so many family photos since we actually got engaged.

That sounds about the normal price range for many photographers.  We went with Pink Posh.  Their pictures are awesome and the are very helpful.  But their starting packages are more like $3900.  Check out their website:

I am using Kristen Stewart, and she is charging me 1800 and that includes a bridal or engagement session. However, I tihnk she is moving to Denver is March, so I don't think she is doing any more Houston weddings.

If you are worred about price, find some photographers that you like (within price reason), send them an email, tell them your budget and see what they can do for you. A lot of them are willing to work within people's budgets.
And now we are as one

That seems about normal for a decent photographer.  I had a hard time choosing because there seems to be a million photographers around.  I went with Taylor and Co (www.taylorandcophotography.com) because I clicked with Michelle and I have a friend who had a good experience with them.  Good luck!

I had originally planned on spending more, but we fell in love with a photographer a friend referred for much less. Our package was 6hrs coverage, 100 photo cards for STD or Thank you, engagement session, printable rights, and 18x20 print (I think). There might have been more, but I'm not sure. We got it for $1000 because we booked before 2011, but I think they went up to $1,200 which I still think is great.

We definately felt the most comfortable with Lisa. It has definately been our easiest choice. They have a website, but she is always updating their facebook page with pictures http://www.facebook.com/C.BaronPhotography  If you are interested, please let her know Lanie sent you.

Thanks for the reference.  I have only spoken with Lisa through email but she has been so friendly and hands on with assisting me in decideing what I want for my BIG DAY. I also love here work that I have seen so for. Unless someone can beat her price and energy I believe she is who I will go with.

Awesome! I am so glad you liked her too! I loved how hands on she was too! She also does some awesome invitations too. We are all really excited about her.  I was super impressed when she discussed our interests with us. She was coming up with all sorts of ideas for us including non-photography related subjects like linens!
I hope it goes well for you! Feel free to email me at lanieleal@yahoo.com if you need any other reccomendations later on! Good luck!
