Vendor Reviews- LONG

Hi all!!

I havent had much time to post this but figured better late than never!! This is going to be long, but hopefully helpful to some. Despite anything negative I may say here, my day was perfect and full of memories I will never forget!! :)

Davids Bridal-D
I got my bridesmaid dresses at Davids Bridal.  A D may seem harsh, and I really pondered this. This review is mainly focused at the Galleria location.  Their customer service SUCKS.  If it werent for one lady that works there (Peta), I probably would have withdrew my order and gone somewhere else.  The dresses were beautiful, but it was such a pain for them to get things right.  Every time one of my girls went in there, it was an issue- they got the order wrong, or they couldnt find something, or you would wait for 30 minutes for them to bring out the wrong thing.  Once we complained to management for about the 5th time, it got a little bit better, but I dont plan on giving them anymore business anytime soon.

Alfred Angelo- A
I got my dress at Alfred Angelo.  It was gorgeous! The staff there were nice and helpful and friendly.  They did my original alterations of putting my bustle on.  When I ordered the dress they made me order extra length and then it was too long, but they didnt charge me for that alteration, so it worked out.

Marry Go Round Bridal Salon- A+
This is where I got my flower girl dresses. The owner and empoyees there are SOO nice. You got personal attention, and I never got the feeling that they just wanted my money. The dresses were super cute, inexpensive, and she went out of her way to help us.  We got everything timely, and the girls looked precious! Would definitely give them business again.

Beautiful U Alterations- A+
Arlene and her staff are wonderful! My dress was way too big and they took it in the week before my wedding and ironed it for me. The price could not be beat, and it fit perfectly! I will definitely go back there for alterations in the future.

Hues By Heather- A++++++
Heather and her staff are AWESOME! They did my makeup for my bridals, boudoir, and the day of my wedding and I couldnt have been happier. I loved loved loved it, and it looked so great in the photos. They were very accomodating to help me and booked my wedding even though it was somewhat last minute.  They called around to try to make the time I wanted work, and there was no hassle or stress.  My airbrush lasted through a 13 hour day, and I still had to make it come off, despite the sweating and crying, humidity, etc. They ROCK! The prices were very reasonable, and I would definitely use them again!

San Luis Spa- B-
This one was kind of tough.  The girls there are very nice, and I really loved my hair. But, in the end, they charged us more for the bridesmaids hair than they had quoted me. Also, we had a girl who couldnt make it last minute, and I still had to pay full price for her hair, that wasnt done. Considering I gave them ALL their business that day (there was 12 of us), I thought they could have worked iwth us a bit. But, all the girls looked great, so overall it was a pretty good experience!  I would not reccomend getting your airbrush makeup done there though. I had my trial there and was not happy at all with the quality or results.

Access Wedding Pastors- A+++++
I wasnt thrilled with the pastor at the church where we were getting married so someone reccomended Ron Ramey and his staff. Such a GREAT reccomendation.  Ted Moss married us, because he was closer and it saved us some mileage. He was SO nice. He met with us at Chilis about 9 months before the wedding just to introduce himself and go over what we wanted. He also emailed to check in, and right before the wedding, met wtih my coordinator to go over how things would go day of( he didnt charge us extra for this). The ceremony was beautiful, and he was very nice.  Couldnt have asked for anything better! :)

Central Christian Church- A
We came across this church by chance, since neither of us even knew it existed. It doesnt look like much on the outside, as it got hit pretty hard by the hurricane, but they have done a lot of renovations and the inside is just beautiful!  The staff here were sooo friendly and willing to help us.  They charged us very little to get married there even though we werent members.  Also, on the day of the weddign one of the rooms was really hot, so the guys had to go outside and sit on the trolley. It wasnt a huge deal as they got to drink beer out there anyway, but the church refunded us $100 because they felt so bad. Our wedding was beautiful!

The Original Trolley Company- A++++++
This was such a GREAT vendor and a great idea!!  We had a large bridal party so I knew I needed something big but I wanted something different and fun! The trolley picked the girls up from the hotel and drove us to church. THen went back and picked up guys and drove them to church.  Then after the ceremony took entire bridal party to the San Luis for the reception.  And we could have alcohol on board!! It was fun and it kept everyone together and the pictures are priceless!!! :) The driver was on time, and even drove up where he wasnt supposed to go so I wouldnt mess my hair up!

The San Luis Resort and Conference Center A++++++++
Stacey was my coordinator here, and I just cant say enough good things.  She was quick to respond, help me with ideas, entertain any crazy thoughts, worked with our budget, and the list goes on. The food was AMAZING, the service out of this world. I dropped off several boxes of stuff I wanted put out at the reception that I had personalized, etc. They did it all. They boxed everything up afterwards, helped my mom take it to the car. I mean, they went way above and beyond. We literally had to worry about nothing but having fun. Everyone had such a great time and we got a lot of compliments on everything. We had close to 300 people, and they got it right, so no complaints! :)

Lonestar Photo Booth A++++++++++++++
The photobooth was probably some of the best money we spent for the reception.  The quality was great, and the personalization on the cards was really neat (I didnt even remember telling them what our colors were..haha). Everyone had a BLAST with it, and we got some hillarious photos. People that we didnt even expect were getting in there having a blast. We got a copy and they got a copy. They also provided a scrapbook (which we didnt pay for), and people decorated pages for us.  The brought two big boxes full of props which were hillarious. We will get all the pictures on cd, but they are all up on the website now for everyone to see. So much fun and definitely money well spent!

Cakes By Jula A+++++++++++++++++
Definitely another favorite. From the day we went for our first tasting here, I fell in love.  Her cakes taste SOOO good!!! And her prices can not be beat.  Jula was so nice to us, and such a help,and so easy to work with.  My cake was beautiful.  She also gave Brian the idea of lighting his cake on fire (Aggie Bonfire) and met with our coordinator to make that happen! It was awesome. She is so creative and fun.  Both of our cakes were gorgeous, fun AND DELICIOUS. People were going back for seconds and thirds. We didnt even get any! She also made the cake for one of my bridal showers, and it was great as well. LOVED IT! She also makes cake drops so if you are ever in league city, stop and get some and you will see what I mean.  The almond amaretto is to die for!

DJ/DOC- Sky Mike (93Q)- A++++++++++++++
Not enough great things to say about Mike. He basically made my wedding stress free for me at the end (As much as possible). He did my timeline, verified everything with all of my vendors, made sure everything was in order, did our rehearsal, and the list goes on and on. He called and emailed to check up on us.  And thats just the coordination piece. He definitely kept the party going. I dont think I sat down ALL night. Everyone had such a great time dancing, and dancing and dancing some more.  He also suprised us at the end with a special song that we didnt think he could get, and it was amazing! I could go on for days talking about him, and everything he did for us. Definitely money well spent.

Nasa Flowers B
This rating was tough.  Mark is so nice and helpful and fun to work with.  He knows his stuff and is very accomodating.  The prices were great, and you get a discount if you pay with cash.  The centerpieces and arrangements were GORGEOUS and everyone loved them.  My bouquet was really pretty though not exactly what I had asked for. My biggest disappointment was the girls bouquets and the flower girls pomander balls. The pomander balls were small and the minute the girls picked them up the petals started falling off.  By the time the ceremony started they looked bad.  He colored the petals on the bridesmaids flowers but they looked pale compared to mine. Just not what I wanted or expected. They werent ugly or anything, but not amazing either. So, thats the only reason I give them a B.

Kodakgallery.com- A++++
So, I have to put this on here.  I made my own guest book on here and a boudoir book for Brian for his wedding gift. Because I was waiting to order them together, they didnt get ordered until the Monday before the wedding. I paid for expedited shipping but it was still showing that because of processing I may not get the order until the Monday or Tuesday AFTER the wedding. :( I was so bummed so I called the company. I told her it was for my wedding adn right away, she offered to help.  She put a note on the order but said she couldnt promise me anything. I got it that Thursday!!!!!! I was so excited. Not only that, but the quality was great!!! :)

Paperdolls Photography- A++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Definitely saving the best for last here. Donna is AMAZING.  Fun, laid back, easy-going, understanding, and most of all creative and talented. She has such an amazing eye for photography and does it because she loves it. Donna was probably stuck with me the longest, as the photographer was the first thing I booked as it was most important to me. So, I think I met her in May of 09.  She did our engagements, my bridals, my boudoir, and then our wedding. All of our pictures have turned out amazing, and I couldnt be happier. She even agreed to go to College Station for our engagements, and though she had to throw in a few aggie jokes, she was such a trooper! :) I love our pictures, and will hold them dear for a lifetime. HIGHLY reccomended to anyone!!

I may be forgetting someone but I cant think anymore. LOL. I didnt realize I had so many vendors! hahaha. :)

    Great reviews!  Haha, I just looked up a bunch of your vendors for myself.  I was wondering, which package did you get for Hues by Heather and the wedding pastor?  (I've been wondering if it's worth the consultation for the hair/makup and the pre-meeting and rehearsal with the pastor.)
