How to find out Venue cost before a visit

How do you ask a venue for their prices before you even visit them?

I want to rule out some places just on the cost, before I waste my time & theirs on a visit.

I am just not sure how to go about asking.

Re: How to find out Venue cost before a visit

  • If I remember correctly, the knot has a search engine that will search for venues. It will also tell you if you can bring in outside catering. This should narrow down your search, but I would recommend calling your top 5 venues because they could be running a promotion not advertised.

  • A lot of times venues will try and get you to set up an appointment before giving you pricing information even if you ask. The girls on this board are great help in getting some of that information. I know I have passed on pricing info to others on here for some of the venues I had looked into during my search. Just ask for some of them on here that may help you.

  • Also if you search this thread for specific venues you may find out a good amount of information already posted about them.

  • most places emailed me pricing packages before I went on appointments once i contacted them. just ask them to email you pricing info...they should. and as the other gals said, you can always ask any of us if you have pricing questions for a specific venue and they haven't responded to you.

  • First, I wouldn't base your pricing off of TheKnot's $ signs. They are a bit subjective and are pretty inaccurate.

I emailed the venues asking for prices. I had a few that didn't give me pricing after the first email and I responded with somethin along with lines of "I will only be visiting venues that I know are in my price range. If you are unable to provide a quote then I will be unable to consider you for my event. Thank you." After that, every venue gave me an answer.

So, shoot out some emails you will be surprised at how much info. they give you.
And now we are as one

  • I emailed the venues before I made appointment, I asked them for a quote by giving them desired wedding date, number of guests, sit down meal preference, they all got back to me within a few days via email and included their menu and contract agreement terms. Afterward, we made appointments for the ones we liked and were within our budget.
