Videographers/opinions

What are the chances that I would regret NOT hiring a videographer? I'm about to hire an awesome photographer, but as for videographer, I'm almost not seeing a point because having a video of the wedding isn't that big of a deal to me...but at the same time, I don't want it to be something I'm just not thinking about then I end up regretting later.

I think probably 95% of brides who did not get one, ended up regretting it. I think video is nice to have on top of photography. Pictures can only capture so much. Years from now, while pictures will be great, having a video to actually see all the people you love and hear their voices will just be non replacable. that's just my opinion. You can find a  reasonable videographer if you are on the cusp of wanting on. while I would pay good money for  a videographer, if you arent sure about or if it is not that important to you I would just get a friend or family member or find a cheap videographer that way you are still able to have video. up to you!

A&A|Nico does videography.  For a combo deal (video and photos) it's about 2K.  If you go to an open house where they are, you can do a scratch off to get a discount.  I won a free studio session so they're covering the cost of my engagement photos without obligating me to purchase a package for my wedding :)  FI won a $300 coupon so that makes them more affordable.  Worth looking into.

This may just be my opinion, but why not just have a family member video the ceremony and key parts? I'm sure someone has a video camera and wouldn't mind. Why pay so much money for someone to do it? Unless you really want a fancy video or something. I completely understand people wanting to do it, but at the same time it's expensive and not necessary. And I haven't met any brides who said they regretted not having a videographer, unless their photographer sucked.

I agree! If money is an issue someone can grab their personal video camera. I made up my mind that I would have one but I wouldn't break the bank. I want to hear my FI say his vows over and over again.
