How many people are you inviting.  that is the first thing you need to decide on.  Get married on a Friday night  or Sunday.  Look for used dresses on craigs list.  minimize your wedding party.  Look on line for sales.  Do a lot of DIY and use michaels coupons.  reuse stuff from friends or family weddings.. again craigs list.  use simple decorations.. keep an open mind on your themes.  Use vista print to get you Save the dates and invites.. wait for them to have sales.  be creative...  do on live save the dates... the knot has them..  do online RSVP  the knot has this too.

Spend money on your venue and food... everything else can be bargin finds..

I know it seems impossible but u can do it. The DJ I'm using only cost 200-250 for all night even for wedding. You can rent a wedding dress and do a lot of DIY projects. You can decorate with a lot of balloons instead of flowers. I also know a place with VERY affordable decor, tablecloths etc. PM if you want the info. Also, I'm baking my own wedding cake. I signed up for a cake decorating class at Hobby Lobby only 40 bucks for 5 sessions. Also, I'm using large heart shaped confetti for my flower girls instead of paying for flowers and ripping them apart... And try using a banquet hall. HTH!! Good luck!

Their website says you have to use their "exclusive caterers" whuch sounds a tad bit expensive.

Caterers not on the exclusive list are welcomed, provided the caterer can present proper liability documentation.

Oh ok. Thanks! That's what made me stray away from using them!

Depends on guest list. Check Bradys Landing, The Gardens at Beamer and Chateau Crystale that have good price/person and all inclusive packages....venues are cheaper on a Fri or Sunday, buffet is cheaper, I suggest keeping guest count at 100 maximum guests.

Check out my venue the Chateau at Midtown.  I got a great deal on the food and you can bring your own alcohol.

We are doing the same thing. Have you looked at Heather's Glen? They're up in Mongomery but they are really reasonable. For 100 people, we can get pretty much everything for under $5,000. Of course, this is a cake and punch reception in the late morning or early afternoon. $6,000 would give more food options at their location. They have all their packages and prices listed on their website - very convinient. We're going to look at the venue the Sunday after this one.

www.haciendabella.net -  Call and talk with Teresa

www.sumbc.org - Call the church and ask to speak to Robert Swearington to get info about the Annex (it's really nice).

Call Ashford Oaks (the same owners as Chateau Crystale) or visit their website to see what kinds of specials they are having right now.

I am having mine at the local park gazebo(only $50 to rent for the day). found a good deal on a hall for the reception. I printed my own invitations. A friend is doing my hair and makeup. I am DIY-ing my ceremony and reception decorations.  There is a lot you can do with 5000
