ceremony in a gazebo???

The venue we booked has a choice of indoor accomidations or outdoor for the wedding ceremony in case of bad weather. The area outdoors is focused around a gazebo... I cant picture getting married in a gazebo!!! I was thinking to use the large lawn and set up our own area with chairs and make an arch to walk to.. I am really stuck here.

We love the spot because it is for both the ceremony ad reception and we have already paid the non-refundable deposit. There also aren't any venues large enough to fit 150+ guests.

any ideas for ceremony options or should we just go with the  gazebo??

If you don't want to use the gazebo, don't.  I think this is a question better asked at the venue as to whether you can change the spot from the gazebo to somewhere else.

Talk to the venue and see if you can do the arch thing.

I am getting married in front of a gazebo as that is all that would accomodate my 150 + guests too. We are putting lots of flowers and arches in gront of the gazebo. Not to "hide" the gazebo but to incorporate it a l little more wihtout it being this huge backdrop thing. You can make a gazebo look pretty and classy!

There are many pretty weddings in gazebos. But if it's not your style, don't do it. It might also be nice for pictures, whether or not you actually get married in it.
