Directions Printed on Ceremony Program?

I am getting a little tired of putting together all of these little projects... would it be OK to have the directions to the reception printed on the back of the ceremony program? Or just not have a map at all since I included a directions card with my invitation?

I was considering a map with directions to be handed out with the program, but how many little pieces of paper and hand-outs do guests really want?

Take the poll or make a comment with your opinion
Thanks, Beth

Re: Directions Printed on Ceremony Program?

  • Our church wedding ceremony is open to the whole congregation as well as any other friends and family who weren't invited to come - so we are having the ushers have separate maps/directions in case anyone asks, but we figure that most people will just follow someone who knows where they're going.

We didn't want a map on the program to be mistaken for an invitation to the reception:P

  • We are having a seperate hand out, as most people know where it is and I feel it would look a little tacky and would have to be rather large on the program to be able to even see the street names etc.

We wont be handing them out, just leaving them on the table at the back of the church in case anyone needs one, but its in a small town and I suspect people will just follow the 80+ people who DO know where it is.

  • I figure that most people will just plug in the reception site into their nav on their phone!

I see no problem with printing a map or directions on the back of the program.   People might forget to bring the invitation with them, or forget the address to punch into their GPS.   It couldn't hurt:-)

f it's easier to do a google maps/mapquest printout, then you can maybe put this inside the back cover of the program, or include it as an "insert" to the program (looesly placed inside the cover) if you're worried about the "look" of the program.

  • We included written directions (no map) on the program. People seemed to arrive at the reception ok, and I didn't hear of any problems.
