Wedding Planners in the Houston/Galveston area

I was recently proposed to over Memorial Day Weekend and we are enjoying the engaged life, just not the stress of planning a wedding.  We decided that we would love to hire a wedding planner in the Houston/Galveston area!  Do y'all have any suggestions or any experiences with any?  Is the typical fee 10%?  Thanks for any helpful feedback!!!

    I hired a day of coordinator.  In my case, most wedding planners I talked to have set fees for the packages that they offer.  Most had packages running from full out event planning (everything from designing your invitations to being there on the day of your wedding) to day of coordination.  It all depends on what you want and how much time and effort (and money) you want to spend.  I highly recommend Callie with Soiree and the City (www.soireeandthecity.com).  She is willing to work with your budget and has tons of fun ideas.  Good luck and congratulations!

    The great thing about her is that the prices are completely based on what you need her to do for you.  And yes, I know for a fact she works with small budgets :oD

    I am using Jennifer Wood.  She is super nice and has been a lot of help.  I chose her middle package.
