First Dance

Hey everybody. So I wanted to see what everybody did their first dance to, or is planning on doing their first dance to?

My fiancee and I are somewhat "metalheads" so we are having some trouble thinking of a song that we feel would be appropriate to dance to. Also, I am just curious as to what everybody is doing themselves. :)

    He picked out the song before we were even engaged.  He said it was because it wasn't country and it wasn't old.  Haha!  Anyways, we danced to "Lucky" by Jason Mraz, not just for those reasons but also because it fit us. 

    Halfway through the planning process, Dave Matthews Band released their new album and I was very tempted to change it to "You and Me", but left it as "Lucky" because that was what he picked for us and it meant a lot.  So, "You and Me Together" was played during dinner and is kinda like our second, unofficial song.

    We danced to "Love Me Tender" the Norah Jones version.

    "Then" from Brad Paisely has been really popular lately as first dances. I love that song!

    We are dancing to "Then" by Brad Paisley. ha. I LOVE IT! The words too it are just so sweet. :)

    The only one that has occurred to either of us (separately, even!) is Wonderful World by Louis Armstrong (or someone like that).

    The FI and I are hip hoppers...so we're (well, really I) choreographing a soft hip hop slow dance number....or at least that's what I'm hoping to do :-)

    We are daning to Whatever it Is by Zac Brown Band...it's FI fav. country band and the only real reason he even listens to country and it describes us perfectly.....

    we are doing You Are by Jimmy Wayne.  It's not top 40 but we discovered on the cd when we first starting dating so it has always been ours! It's very beautiful.  I listened to it last night and loved it all over again!! Everyone is thinking we are going to do A Whole New World since we are huge disney fans.  Man they are going to be surprised!! However that is our disney song so we play it during our slideshow or something!

    Faithfully by Journey. seems they are the closest to "metal" on this list so far.

    Also another chocie for us was Everything by Micheal Buble. That is actually our song but Then worked so perfect for us. Especially the part about propsing where we met because thats what the DH did.

    We're going "You and Me" by Dave Matthews Band. I'm a HUGE DMB fanatic (been listening to them since I was 9...) and originally I suggested "Bless the Broken Rd" bc my fiance loves it, but he randomly texted me saying "Let's do 'You and Me' by DMB for first dance" about a month ago. :D SO excited! It'll be a fun one to dance to :)

    We did about a minute of Love me Tender by Nora Jones and then an easy transition to  slasa and did about 1 min of that. No fake, dj messing up and all that.
