Quartets other than Divisi Strings?

I was wondering if there were any brides out there who used a string quartet for their ceremony music. I really like Divisi Strings, but $615 for one hour is too much for me!

Any suggestions?

My cousin had one but she used HS students.  You may consider the local colleges/universities.

I tried those. It was a bit of a pain. Most HS were not willing to work with me. I am looking at UofH now and hopefully would find something soon.

How much do you guys consider 'okay'? I was looking for a college quartet that I would pay $500. Is that too little?

Thanks, ladies! I will definitely look into Accent Chamber Music and Third Flood Strings.

Avalon quoted the same price as Divisi Strings - at least in the pamphlet I got from Bridal Extravaganza.

Have you tried Houston String Quartet? I can't remember their exact prices but I don't remember them being ridiculously priced.

I was going to use U of H students but it got too stressful.  I am, I'll admit, a bit of a control freak but I need you to respond to emails within a week or 2.  2 months isn't ok.  And some were seniors and I was worried they may graudate and move away.  But they were super nice, talented, and affordable.

my coworker plays in one but I can't think of what her and her mom are called.  I will ask and get back to you.

    Thanks!

The pricing seems to be the same across the board - $600 for ceremony. I may just go with Divisi Strings b/c I was very impressed by them at Bridal Extravaganza.

I would also recommend Angela with Avalon Music...we had a trio for our ceremony and cocktail hour and I know I didn't pay as much as Divisi was going to cost...
