Congrats! I bet it felt great to cross off "book honeymoon" from your to-do list! We're going on a cruise as well. 7-day on Royal Caribbean... it's the first cruise for the both of us so we're excited and not sure what to expect. Our cruise stops at Cozumel, Grand Cayman, and Falmouth, Jamaica. We splurged and got a balcony room, can't wait!

How funny! I am looking at the same cruises for our honeymoon. We haven't booked yet, but I am really interested in the Carnival Magic as well.

I know a couple who went to Grand Cayman on their cruise and they said that was their favorite port. And I have been to Cozumel and that is nice also.. and I bet you can't go wrong with Jamaica! and yes it felt very nice!

I have done two cruises and I love them.. You will be able to relax and everything is pretty much taken care of for you.. Take a look at the excursions if you want to plan ahead.. or just go with the flow! : ) .

@mtskookasem: sorry didn't see your post! I have been on two Carnival Cruises. and I like them alot. and since the Magic is brand new it has a bunch of things that the other ships I went on didn't have.. so I love that.

Are you looking at wherever the Magic goes? Or those ports? I was going to do this same cruise on Royal, because they leave out of Galveston, but when I checked Carnival again, they were building Magic and it did the exact cruise I wanted out of Galveston. It was Fate! haha..

That is exactly what happened to me! lol. And same for me for my port reasoning.. We have done the Bahamas and I have done the one to Mexico only.  Never to Costa Maya though..
Are you going in Dec? FI will still be in school, so we are going in December when Christmas break is.
We will prob end up on the same Cruise! haha..

We are doing a 7-day carnival cruise to Cozumel, Mexico, Grand Cayman and Jamaica.  This will be both of our second cruise and best of all-it was free!  A gift from FFIL-gotta love him...

Hahaha, we very possibly could end up on the same cruise! How funny! We are getting married 11/12/11, but my FI is still in school too so it will probably have to be December.

@tjw: gotta love free! that is an amazing gift. We are helping pay for the honeymoon mainly because my parents are pretty much paying for the wedding... so I thought we could help a little! ; ) . lol.

@mtsookasem: I don't remember if iv'e told you this on another post, but FI's twin is getting married 11.12.11! haha. and if you need we had a cruise consultant from carnival that my mom has used a couple time before and he helped us find the perfect room. I could get you his number. and I love that you can make payments until October.. lol.

Oh thanks! Any help is appreciated :)

11/12/11 is apparently a very popular date... I have had 2 couples accuse me of "stealing" their date (even though I got engaged before them, lol). Actually, November in general is crazy! There is a couple getting married the night before me (11/11/11). I'm not friends with them, but a few people in my wedding party will be attending it. The problem is that it interferes with my rehearsal dinner! Then, we have a wedding the following Saturday (11/19/11)

Actually - what did your cruise consultant say regarding the weather? I was looking again today and was thinking about a January cruise b/c I don't want to miss any holidays (Christmas/New Year's). I did a little bit of research and found that it will be pretty cold :( I would hate to be on a cruise boat and not be able to go out on the deck b/c it's freezing!

For me the Holiday thing was no biggie. Only because I think it would be nice for our first holiday to be just us. and not have to worry about whose house we are going to, who all do we need to vist and get to.. it will be less stressful this way for our first Christmas as a married couple, but i definitely understand not wanting to miss the holidays for other people.. that is just our thinking of it. lol. Doing it in Jan sounds like a good deal though...

    then.

all the research i have done said the weather in those cities will be beautiful.. but as far as it being chilly outside. well, we cruised last june and at night it was chilly anyways.. just all the wind that the ship makes, makes it like that.. so thats not too big of a deal to me..

hopefully you find a compromise! : ) . i'm sure you will . do they have the same cruise in Jan?

The January cruise we are looking at goes to Montego Bay, Grand Cayman, & Cozumel, which we wanted to avoid since we have been to Montego Bay before. In the end, it doesn't matter. It's just one day, and it's not like Montego Bay wasn't beautiful, haha.

I am looking at Royal Caribbean as well tfor more options. They have one in January that goes to Belize, Costa Maya, & Cozumel. It is 6 nights vs 7 though.

So many decisions!! At least it is only January, and we have plenty of time to decide :) Thanks for the tips/info!

Hi! Congrats on booking your honeymoons.  I just got back from a new years cruise on Carnival.  I've been on one in June before and the January one was very different. We had a great time but the weather was chilly on both "at sea" days.  It was very nice and warm in Cozumel.  On the 2 sailing days, it was too cold to lay out on the deck.  We still did but were wearing sweat shirts and wrapped up in towels.  You'll be fine when the ship is sailing around the Caribean but just know the first and last day when you're in the Gulf will be chilly.  There are plenty of things to do "indoors" on the ship on those days though.   Enjoy!

Thanks, Rheiner! That's what I was worried about - especially because the Carnival Magic has that waterpark on the deck. It doesn't seem like we could play in it if it is cold!
