Beautiful U - Alterations Review *UPDATE*

Sorry, I promised a review a week or two ago!

I went for my second fitting 2 weeks after the first. They already had the entire bodice taken in, probably about 2 sizes, and it fit like a glove. The bustle was pinned up and I was very happy with what they plan on doing with it.

I'll update again after the final fitting!

ETA: I am slowly changing my mind about them. I took my mother to see my dress on Monday. The owner is really sweet. But, the seamstress never finished taking in my dress, just the bust and the top part of the bodice. I have a fit n flare style dress and you can barely tell. The weight of the dress seems to hand off the empire waist and that's not right. When I requested for her to take it in in the hips, she argued and then told me it would be another $100. I told her that no, the work was supposed to be done but they hadn't done it and for some reason had taken the pins out. The owner reassured me I would not be charged, but the seamstress did not seem to willing to do the work, saying the lace might break. I'm now worried I won't be satisfied. I'm calling tomorrow to speak with the owner about my concerns.

**UPDATE** 9/27
I had called and was scheduled promptly for 2 weeks later when the newest work would be completed on my dress, they were to take it in at the hips. I went this afternoon and could immediately tell the difference when I put the dress on. It fit beautifully, and gave me enough room to sit comfortably. I was still a little worried that I felt the need to pull it up, I expressed my concern and was told it is where it should be and not to worry. I was about to change when the seamstress came back and pinned in an inside belt. As soon as I was all zipped up it felt eleventy million times better. My final fitting is October 14. If I continue to lose weight at the current rate, I may have them take it in just a hair more, but if not it will remain as is currently.

I must say I was worried, but am glad that expressed my concern as they are taking such wonderful care of me, and the work they have done really is very good. Here is a pic from today, I took it myself so please excuse the awkward angle. This dress has been taken in 2 sizes, and a lot of the detail had to be removed and put back on. If anyone has any questions feel free to PM me, I'm around quite often for the next few weeks :)

Hello.  I am in the Houston area and am looking for someone to do my alterations.  Was this Vendor reasonably priced?

Well, I needed a ton of work, so it's hard to say. If you call she will give you general pricing over the phone.

they are pretty expensive compared to others. for boob cups, hem, and bustle, it was $350, and some bust line work cost me another $75.

queen jane, perhaps you should re-post your updates so that people not following this link can see that. i had issues with them promising to do some minor last-minute work and then just not. because i was flying out to my wedding the next day, it wouldnt have mattered had i checked, but like you, all the pins, etc., were taken out despite no work being done. i was pretty dissatisfied with them overall.

I did re-post it at least on here so it owuld go to the top. I'm guessing you're the newest review on citysearch and all that? I just called the owner and set yet another appointment. They had re-pinned it Monday and I let her know that I had concerns the work would not get done. If I still do not feel confident at that time, I may take it elsewhere, but I'm going to at least see what they have to say. The work they have done so far in the bust and the bustle has been good, they just seem hesitant to take it in any further, and that won't work with a fit n flare dress.
