Warning: You are about to read a ranting!!!!! Kinda long sorry, but WWYD? Poll

February 17th, I did hotel visits to pick for our oot guests. After, finding the 1 I felt most fit our needs, and location to venue, I called the wedding planner (WP). I gave her the info, and she called the GM 30minutes after I left. Well, the gm, stated that "No one mention to her about some1 coming in, and proceeded to check with her agents, while the WP was on the phone. She said her agents said no1 had been in. I had to give them my freakin Driver's LIC to view the room. They discussed the rates, meeting rooms, and shuttle specifics and worked out a deal. The proposal would be sent to the WP the next day. JIC the WP, sent her a email w/the details of the convo after hanging up with her. The WP has called, emailed, sent pigeons weekly, to this GM b/c we really want this place. She has been responding via email with excuses on why it's not done, or her assist. would be calling in 15mins.(no call rcvd). Now it's March 9th and guess what: NO FREAKING PROPSAL!!! So, Monday the WP emails her,and she emails back and says to call her at the front desk, b/c she is working. WP obliges, only to be met w/nasty, vile attitude. She tells WP,"I was workin on a project for the owner and that takes precedent over your blocking of 30 rooms." Being the professional she is, the WP politely asks for the owner's cntc info. The GM, wouldn't at first, then gave her a name only of a fake company owner, and the regional manager's email address. After googling the fake owner and coming up empty, she then called customer care, got the real regional manger's email address. Not the fake one the GM gave her, which btw was a coworker's gmail acct. So, Monday the regional manager, called the GM, and got the owners more important speech. The regional manager assured WP she would have it by the end of the business day, opened a claim jic, and ask to be cc'd in on any future emails. She also ask, if she would email the gm the orignal email. She did and the GM responded ohh so not professional, and ERASED the rates from the email agreed upon on the 17th, and put new raised rates! Did I mention she called the WP at 930pm. Upon learning all of this, I found the names and addresses of 4Vice presidents of the corporate office, fedex(sig req) a detailed letter, and enclosed all emails sent. I am now waitng until next week. Oh BTW, my mom facebook that fake regional manager, and found the GM's facebook page. I'm 105% sure that was the agent I met on FEB. 17th when I visted the place!

That has got to be highly upsetting with their lack of professionalism and inability to accomodate your requests.  I would suggest looking for another hotel...while you wait on the response from their corporate office.  If they were so unwilling to help you out with the accomodations you needed...what would happen once your guests arrived?? Would they tell them that there are no such rooms blocked off for them?  Or tell your guests that they are full??  Once you get a response back from the corporate office...see what they can work out for you...but I would definitely look elsewhere to make sure that my guests are greeted and accomodated as deserved.

wow, what hotel was that? I would start looking for a different hotel, but hang on just in case corporate gives you a really low rate as an apology.

I would look for another hotel to give your business to. Even if Corporate responds in your favor, you will still be dealing with the local GM and staff...

    What hotel is this?

    Good luck!

I don't think lowered rates or deals that corporate could offer would be enough. This sounds like a complete nightmare, and I would look for another hotel.

Which hotel is this? I think everyone wants to know so we don't make the mistake of looking into it!

Girl find another hotel. If it is this hard to get her to click a few buttons on the computer and reserve the rooms... imagine what will happen when your guest check in now that you went to the corporate office on her...  I would demand a free room package and use it at another location in the chain. But I would still not use this hotel on your wedding day.  You need to tell them this.. they may just fired the GM and give you red carpet service. In today's economy, customer service should be a high priority.

Yea, find another hotel. Why risk it? They've already shown that they don't want your business so why give it to them anyway? Run far away and make sure that the general manager knows why you went another way.

Please please post whichever hotel this is so I can avoid it. I assume in the HOuston area?  Good luck to you, I voted to find another hotel altogether!  This much trouble before the wedding will probably only mean even more on the day of.
