Seamstress help needed.

Anyone know or have an affordable / inexpensive and trustworthy seamstress for my wedding dress? Prefably in or near the Galaria and Spring areas. Thanks for the help.

I got mine altered in Old Town Spring at Princess Bridal and they did a great job. My bustle is what drove the price up, but all the alterations were VERY well done, and they did it all on a very short notice.

But the words cheap and alterations rarely go together when it comes to wedding dresses just FYI. Most of the time you will get what you pay for.

Cheap as in they do not overcharge. I still want someone who does a good job. I just don't want to pay $300 for something that normally costs on average of $150 (as an example).

Here is my dress without the bustle.

This is a shot of what it looked like after it was bustled.

The only other alteration I had done was it getting taken in an inch on each side. I feel they did a great job.

I just got a quote from Candy Alterations she is in the 290/Cypress Area. She will change my zip up dress into a corset for half the price of what everyone else quoted. Here is her website with pricing.

I bought my dress at Davids Bridal and decided I wanted to transform it so I looked long and hard for a seamstress.  I ended up using Laura Couture http://lauracouturenalterations.com/index.html She has been great.  We took an okay dress and made it amazing.  She is from Columbia but moved to the states when her husband got a job transfer here.  She was a fashion designer in Columbia so she knows her stuff.  She does alterations for Princess Bridal  in Spring and I figure if they trust her with gowns that cost thousands then I could trust her with my cheap-o gown from Davids Bridal.  She is VERY reasonably priced.  She does alterations out of her house for people who didnt purchase their gown at Princess Bridal.  She is off of Hwy 6 near Westheimer.  Thats not right next to the Galleria but its not that far either and its totally worth the drive considering all the money you will save.
