Alterations for Wedding Dress

I need to get some alterations done to my dress. Dress is too long and bustle needs to be done. I got my dress at Ventura's not sure if you all have had any experiences with them? So, I need some help.

Approximate cost?
How long before the wedding did you get them done?
How long did they take?

I was just about to ask the same thing.  My dress fits perfectly, I just need to have bustles put on.  akg0053, did you have to have bustles?  If so, how was the cost?  I'm on a budget, but also want it done right.

i was not psyched with beautiful U. it cost $400 for the bustle, hem, boobie pads (that was $25) and bust adjustment ($75). so $300 for hem and bustle not including the post-alteration gown press (another $40).

their work is good, but not amazing. and they were very difficult to schedule follow up fittings with, so the whole process took about 6 weeks, and I was picking up my dress last minute (and they hadn't done the eye-hooks they had said they would, but time was too short and it was not that big of a deal).

i went with them b/c it was worth it for reliably good work, which they deliver.

I second beautiful-u. Arlene is a charm to work with. She made every effort to make sure I was completely satisfied and that things were just right. The hem cost $150 and I believe each bustle is like $10+. I was very pleased. Their customer service deserves an A+. To have the dress pressed is $40 but you can opt out if you like.

Oh and alterations took about 2 weeks. I went in about 2 months before the wedding.
