How do you decide?!?!

So I need to start working on my programs soon, but first need to decide the order in which our bridal party will walk in...

Of course, I know where the best man & MOH and FG & RB will be, but I'm stuck on the rest.

Do I just go in alphabetical order, or in order of how long I've known them? 

I'm so confused!  What is everyone else doing/what did you do???

I did it by height for the actual recessional and processional (ceremony). On the program I sorted their names alphabetically by last name.

Oh - so you guys didn't put them in the same order on the program as they walked.  Interesting.  I never thought of that!

I thought they were supposed to be printed in the program the order they walked in so that everyone would know who they are. Am I wrong?

You could, but I didn't have all my bridal party in 1 city to know who was shorter than the other. So for the programs since I printed them in advanced I just did them alphabetically. I just liked the height order for the recessional and processional because it looked better.

i did my programs without even thinking of the order of processional. my thought was only alphabetical. then at the rehearsal they asked what order to walk out my coordinator suggested by height. no one noted the difference between the two. but you could organize it however you would like! i don't think there is any set rules on this.

Thank you!  If you can't tell, I'm not a great decision maker in some cases...and this happens to be one of them!

not that it was intentional, but my BMs were in order by how long I've known them. FSIL walked in first (farthest from me) and my sister walked in last (stood next to me). like I said, this wasn't intentional, but was just how it worked out. and their names were in reverse order of how they walked in--as in the program was in order of who stood closest to me. as a guest of weddings, I've preferred the names be done that way instead of alphabetically so I can put names to faces.

HA..I did not even think about that when I did my programs.  I just did MOH first then just listed the other three, not giving any thought to the order.  I do not think anyone noticed.  I did not even notice until you asked the question.

I did the same thing, but mine was kind of intentional.  And it just so happened that they were in height order!
