Texas-Houston

Today I need...

for everybody I talk to, to stop reminding me that I chose a date right smack-dab in the middle of hurricane season for my outdoor wedding!!!!  LOL.  One especially helpful person added on "they're saying this could be the worst season in so-and-so years"  Yes, I know all this, but shhhhhhh.  I'm very happy over here in Denial Territory.  Just thought I'd share.  Anyone else dealing with this?

Aww as long as you are okay with the date no one else should matter! Did I just say that?
I am getting the "OMG I can't believe you are having a SUMMER WEDDING IN TEXAS!"
to each their own...I like the Denial Territory too.

My thoughts exactly... I figure, this is Houston.  Its either hurricane season, blistering heat, or freakish cold (or at least what seems freakish to those who survive said sweltering heat for the rest of the year) so may as well go for it... either that or hope we magically picked one of the 12 or so pretty days each year?  Denial territory is fun.  Tomorrow is kareoke night. :)

It's okay...I got married May 15th...sounds safe right???  Well.....first time it rained in FOREVER.  A torrential down pour for my rehearsal dinner..I looked like a drowned rat and rain all day on my wedding.  You can not predict anything.  They say it is good luck but come on!!

there were a few brides on this board that had their wedding planned for AFTER hurricane season and their venue went down with Ike. Doesn't matter when you plan it, if Mother Nature is ready to test your patience, she will! :) But we will think happy thoughts for all the brides in the future that the same doesn't happen to them!

I hated that. We got married last year in June and I got so much s*** from all ends. Our original date was August 22. But decided to change it.

It's your wedding date that the two of you settled on. I Ditto what Primo said.

    Good luck and Congrats!!!

Here!!  I am one too... A late afternoon wedding in August!  People will be so HOT,   Hurricane season, the weekend before school starts, blah blah blah!

I bought wedding insurance and I will hit the JP if a hurricane hits... I am not going through all this planning again!

our date is 10-2 and honestly i am only worried about the hurricane stuff because of all the family flying in. I would hate to have to deal with half the family unable to come for our big day due to stupid weather :( Not to mention all the planning that goes into the event and then having to improvise!

I just think its funny!  Like everyone I know is like *GAASP* hurricane season!  Did you not KNOW?????  Next time someone asks I'm gonna act all shocked, and tell them they're right, I'm changing the date, thank goodness they were there to warn me about it or god only knows what would have happened.  They probably saved my marriage.  LOL.
