Safari Texas Ranch?

I am currently speaking with Safari Texas Ranch. I was just wondering if anyone had their wedding there, and what their thoughts were.

no personal experience, but a friend of mine got married there about a year and a half ago, and he just RAVED about the place. loved it. I considered it too, until I found out that it was in Richmond. so that's at least one positive review, even if it is third-hand.

we've had a couple of knotties get married there since ive been posting, but i couldnt remember their screen names to save my life...

i know one of them had a good experience...and one of them had a bad one.

i toured the place, and thought the grounds were fairly dirty around the parking lot where i was and that was a turnoff for me...plus the coordinator i met with (who i later saw posting here plannin her own wedding), really didnt seem like she wanted to be there helping me.

So im sure it all depends on who you end up with as a coordinator as to how your day goes.

I was NOT impressed with STR when I tried to tour it last summer. I had scheduled a tour at 3pm and we arrived just a couple of min after. Whoever was supposed to give the tour completely ignored us because she was with a paying customer.

They put us in this tiny office and we sat there for like 20 min and no one came to help us so we walked out.

The grounds looked awful and they were in the middle of building something. One of the windows of the grand ballroom (you see it first when you pull up) looked like it had been shot out. They do SEVERAL weddings at once and they had really tacky signs directing people where to go.

I thought the place was very ugly, the staff was rude, grounds were unkept and I was just not impressed at all.

I hope you have a better experience with them!

 I attended a wedding there this past December, and I was very dissapointed. First of all, it was literally freezing outside and I had to wear my over coat during the entire reception to stay warm due to the lack of heating in the building. Asthetically, I felt that the building needed some maintenance. Ultimately, it is your choice, but be sure to look over the particular room you will be renting. Make sure it meets your standards and budget.
