Venue & Church Question

How far is too far to travel from wedding to reception in Houston? I booked the reception hall around the IAH area and having issues finding a church.  We are presbyterian and the closest church (which is not my first choice is 16 miles away.  Our church is 30  miles away.  We booked the reception hall because that is where my parents wanted to have it.(They were paying)

I would say 15-20 minutes and thats with factoring in traffic.  I'm sure your guests will travel further if they have to but it's kind of rude to make them.

Hmm..... If you must have your ceremony at your church,be mindful of which day of the week/ time that you book. Houston traffic can be brutal so this 30 mile drive can turn into an hour+ on certain days.
Ashton Gardens has a beautiful chapel in the IAH area.  If your open to it, I would check into having just the ceremony there (& bring your Presbyterian pastor/officiant)... it would certainly eliminate the travel factor.
