BM Dresses from Harwin?

Good idea? Bad idea?

I'm buying the dresses for my BMs myself and have to buy 7. A friend told me to check out Harwin, so does anyone have any experience or recommendations there?

I'm not a big fan of stores in that area, as they tend to be cheap knockoffs of something else...but that's JMPO.  It's a great area for costume jewelry and accessories, but clothing...eh.

I am probably getting mine from Ventura's.  The ones I am looking at are by Jasmine and they are only $126.00 each.

Well Harwin will workout just fine for me. I think you just have to take your time and shop around at the many stores that are available. I don't want my BM's to spend a lot of money on a dress they are only going to wear one time. That's JMOP!

we were able to get affordable dresses from J.Crew. when one of my bridesmaids got pregnant and had to go up a couple of sizes, they exchanged sizes with no cost to me or her, no problem.

I had BMs try on their dresses (bill levkoff) from local shops and ended up ordering from Pearl's Place in New Orleans, it was a lot cheaper.  My dresses were retail $150 or so and Pearl's quoted me $97.  I was able to buy my 4 BM dresses that way.  They had good reviews on here, but since I haven't received them yet, I can't review them myself.  My dresses won't get here until September so I'll be able to post then.  I did go look on Bill Levkoff's site and they were listed as an authorized retailer.

I think shopping at Harwin is fine for affordable dresses, I wouldn't want my bridesmaids spending excessive money on a dress they might never wear again.

Thanks everyone for the input! I actually ended up finding a gorgeous one shoulder dress in eggplant for my BM's at $71/each! The order was placed and the owner said we'd have the dresses in 3 weeks. I went to about 5 stores and ended up at one that was very organized and easy to navigate.

They all had the word "Fashion" in it so I can't recall the exact name, but it was on the corner of Harwin and Reims in the same plaza as a Suitmart. They have all of the dress designs hanging up along the walls and an associate can tell you what colors are offered and find the dress within the many racks to try on. Another store I liked was a little down the street on the corner of Harwin and Regency Square. This place also had catalogs in addition to the dresses on the walls to check out and order. There were A LOT of designs to choose from.

I know exactly which one you are talking about by the Suitmart, they do have a lot of really pretty dresses. I really did like their dresses the best.

Ha, my mom and I actually looked at the one on the corner of regency square.  It was a bit difficult seeing all the styles though.
