Hello Fellow Knot Followers: The Knot helped me so much when I was planning my wedding and I loved reading reviews from local brides. So I thought I would return the favor and give some feedback on the vendors I used.
Flowers: Floral Events (A+) - Bill and his crew were absolutely amazing. I had no clue what I wanted to do for flowers when I walked in and he helped me create the perfect arrangement by the time I left!!! They were timely, reasonably priced and the flowers turned out beautiful!! Thanks to Bill and his team.
Cupcakes & Groom's Cake:Dacapo's Pastry Cafe in the Heights (A) - If you are looking for a cupcake tower and don't want to spend an arm and a leg, you should check out this place! Very reasonable on price and the cupcakes are fantastic. The Groom's cake was amazing as well. My only complaint was she forgot the cake topper! My wedding was in Galveston so she couldn't go back and pick it up. I am pretty easy going so it didn't really upset me and she called me the next day to apologize. She did substitute flowers for the topper and it actually turned out great. Just make sure if you have a special topper to either leave it at the reception hall or just remind her! Otherwise, great job here and would recommend to anyone.
Photographer:Kitty Sanchez Photography (A+) - I can't say enough great things about my photographer Kit. She takes the most amazing pictures and was great to work with!! Excellent prices for what is included as well. Her basic package includes rehearsal, which I thought was a huge plus! She is everything you want in a photographer. She gets the job done and is super creative! Also, she is the type of photographer at the reception that is at every moment without you even noticing, which I think is a plus. Check her out for sure!! I could go on and on.
Catering: BB's Cafe (A+) - If you want the most amazing food at your wedding that everyone will be talking about, you must go talk to Brooks at BB's Cafe in Houston. I still have people saying how great the food was and it has been 2 months since my wedding! Hands down...the best! Brooks was great to work with, his crew was very professional and extremely helpful with each aspect of the reception. He will customize the menu to your specific needs and work within your budget. Can't say enough about BB's!!!
Reception Venue: The Roof Garden in Galveston, TX (A+) - Juliet and Charles were great to work with at The Roof Garden. It is right in the heart of Galveston on the strand and has a real New Orleans type feel!!! If you are keeping your wedding number below 200, this place is perfect!! Not sure it would fit if you are over that amount. We had about 160 and it was great. Balcony is amazing, which is where most of my guests were for the reception (the weather was amazing). Make sure to tell your DJ to set up the balcony speakers. It wasn't something I thought of before the wedding and I wish the music would have been playing out there as well. Other than me skipping over that minor detail, everyone was amazing. The place is just beautiful!
DJ: JPL Entertainment (A+) - Zak was our DJ from JPL and did an amazing job. I didn't have a wedding planner for the day of, which I was initially worried about but I didn't need one with Zak. He came to find me at all the important moments and made sure the reception went smoothly. You are able to fill out online planners and create your own playlists, which I loved. Would recommend to anyone!
Hotel for Guests:Tremont Hotel (A-) - This hotel is just beautiful and looks great after the hurricane renovations! During our stay, everything was perfect (except the valet.....very slow!) The only reason I gave an A- is because I wasn't overly thrilled with the service leading up to the big day. I had to follow up with them quite a bit to get information about my room block. I thought it should be the other way around. I still wouldn't have had my guests stay anywhere else because it was great once we got there!
Hope this helps you when planning for your big day. Don't stress too much. Just have fun with everything and enjoy this moment in your life!
