Tipping vendors?

I'm trying to get organized for this Saturday (crazy). I'm not sure how tipping works and I don't have any of my wedding books with me. So ladies, who should I be tipping and how much? Thanks!

the rule of thumb i was told when i got married is: If the vendor performing the service owns the business, no need to tip. If they don't, then do - up to a max of $50. So my photographer and DJ owned their own businesses and I didn't tip them, but i tipped the guy who set up the chairs for the ceremony and my hair/make-up people.  Gratuity was included for waitstaff, etc for our venue, but i tipped the day-of coordinator a little extra b/c she was so super helpful.

if you google it, there are a bunch of different etiquette guides (including one on the knot) that pretty much say this, but go into more detail.

Take the Cake on Hwy 6.  In a litte strip mall near Yorktown movie theater but super delicious.  They do all my FI's birthdays and lots of weddings.
