FMIL

Did anyone else's FMIL totally change how she acted once you became engaged to her son?
It was like mine flipped a switch and went into some crazy MIL mode. I get that I am marrying her first born son and she is having to deal with this new territory, but really...ease up!

At least she had some type of reaction. My FIL's never congratulated us OR have mentioned anything about the wedding. :\ Just brush it off and don't let her get to you. Good luck!

Mine seems to like me better. She did not like me for years. One day I guess she started to see I was ok and told me she  finally liked me. I think planning the wedding has helped us bond some. I like that she realised I am not stealing her only child away from her. Instead she is gaining a daughter.I like the woman dearly.

I am sorry to hear that you are having FMIL issues. I think once she gets used to the idea of you being a part of the family things will go back to normal or get better.

My FMIL is great, but she lives in Ohio. My FFIL really hates me, and the other day when my fiance was giving me a credit card to put down for our damage deposit for our reception venue he said "are you sure you want to get married? i think you're making a mistake"
it gets to me sometimes, especially because my whole family LOVES my fiance, but all I can do is hope they eventually come to like me. Don't let it get you down, I'm feeling the IL blues, too!
