Bridal Gowns

Hey Ladies,

I was wondering how do you know what size gown you wear? I'm not near any shops that sell bridal gowns and the nearest davids bridal is 3 1.2 hours away. I have ben looking online trying to come up with style ideas and I noticed that most dresses start at size 2. Is that a standard size?

I am pretty small 5' 2" and weigh 95 lbs. I have no real accents of the body, i.e. booty, boobs are about a B cup but they look different depending on the braw I select. I can still fil in kids clothes (size 14 or 16) or size 0 in juniors.

Basically I look like I'm 16 and I just want to progreess my age a little through my dress. But I want to ensure  I am looking at designs that wil fit my body shape.

Usually bridal gowns are a size or two bigger than your usual size. I'm a size 3 regularly but my bridal gown is a size 6.

I agree with loop0406, I'm normally a size 6 but got a size 10 wedding gown.

Same.. I am a 14 and I had to get a 18.    See if the company has a 800 number.  You could always take your measurements and tell customer service.  It might be better to get a lace back or corset design.  that will give you wiggle room and reduce the amount of trailering  which can add up...

I can relate to what you are saying. I am @ the same build that you are describing. I was afraid that a size 2 wedding dress was not going to fit as a street size 2 is too big for me. (I also wear 14/16 in little girls.) Alterations are costly and I didnt want to deal with that so I went for a corset back mermaid/trumpet style gown. It fits perfectly and its a size 2. HTH

I would get measured (ask someone to help you at home) then go by the size chart on david bridal's website. you may just be a size 2
