Restaurant reception for approx 50 to 75 people - HELP!

Hi Houston Knotties!

I need a little help planning a fairly average sized wedding for about 50 to 75 people.  I would like to have the reception at a restaurant.  The wedding will be in Northwest Houston so I'd prefer something no further than downtown.  South Houston is out of the question.

I know the obvious spots like Brenner's, Ousie's Table, Rainbow Lodge, etc but am curious to see if anyone knows of any other restaurants that are hidden gems with great little banquet rooms.  Any information you can share is appreciated.

I also do not need a dance floor or anything like that.  Budget anywhere from $25 to $50 per person.

Thanks!

I had my rehearsal dinner at the Shell Plaza in downtown.  The view was spectacular and everyone enjoyed the food.  I don't recall the price though. hubbys parents took care of that part.

Have you heard of Patio on Mercer? It might be something to look into. It is at Richmond and Buffalo Speedway.

I'd be interested to see answers too, for Northwest Houston specifically.  Our church is in Spring,  and the hotel we are blocking rooms at is in Tomball.  We are considering just renting a reception room at the hotel to do our dinner, but I imagine that can be pricey.  We're paying for everything ourselves so....

I am having my reception in the Woodlands Waterway Marriott Hotel's restaurant- Ristorante Tuscany is what it's called. It holds 100 people max, but it costs about $90/person (includes cocktail hour, very nice meal, 4 hours open bar, champagne toast, the cake, specialty linens of your choice including chair covers, small and/or large floral arrangements for each table and cake table, a day of coordinator, etc.) It might be worth it to look into the hotel in Tomball because it might be less expensive and be a good bang-for-your buck if it is "all-inclusive" like the Marriott.

Italiano's in Humble has a banquet hall, and the food is great. I think it's around $15 a head.

ouisie's table is really, really nice. monica, their coordinator, is awesome. they don't have a price minimum, just a minimum number of people for each room. you could easily rent the porch (they require 55 people minimum), and as long as everyone orders an entree, you're set!
