Texas Honeymoon!

I have been searching for a nice place to stay for a honeymoon in TX! Houston, Galveston, Austin, Hill Country....somwehere around those areas! Dallas would be too far. Just looking for a nice room and maybe some romantic or fun activities (wine tour, jet skiis, you name it!)

I'm open to all your suggestions! :) thanks ladies!

We are going to Fredericksburg. Lots to do (especially wine tours!) and everyone I've ever known who's been there has loved it. Plus I like the idea of a romantic B&B rather than a big chain hotel.

    When is your honeymoon?

For Spring/Summer I like Canyon Lake or Gruene area. You could even go farther West and do some winery tours.

Look at Travelocity for places to stay once you know where you are going. I've never had a bad experience since I started using their reviews. That's how we picked our B&B actually and I cannot wait! :)

Do you live in Houston now? If so, I would go to Austin/the Hill Country for a little get-away. There are def more wineries in that area, there's Lake Travis (where you could rent a jet ski), you could go for some little hikes (my fave area near Austin is Hamilton Pool, you could also go rafting at the river - super fun thing to do with your hubby!), shopping at the outlets in San Marcos, etc. I would stay at a B&B in Gruene and do day trips to other places.

<div>Yes I currently live in Houston! Those are some great ideas!! Can you reccommend any wineries or places to stay in Gruene? We have floated the river together and gone out in Gruene before and we had a great time! We stayed at a hotel for that trip but I was looking for something a little more romantic if there is anything like that in the area! :)</div>

What about renting a cabin by the river?  That is close to Gruene - and there are some really cute places to stay!  I heard about some tree houses on/near River Rd., but I've never stayed at them.  Could be fun though!  Other than that, Lake Travis could be fun, or San Antonio river walk...
