Budgeting Questions!!

Hey ladies!

I have been trying to pin-point my budget so that my parents have a better understanding of how much everything will cost. I'm targeting towards under 10k, preferrably 6-8k. I'm the type of person who doesn't want my parents to spend too much money on themselves... :) I also feel that the wedding industry charges WAY too much!

My main questions are for flowers and coordination.

I picked up a pricelist from Central Market, and their pricing is as follows:
Bridal Bouquet $85 and up
Bridesmaids $65 and up
Table Centerpiece $55 and up
Buffet Arrangement $150 and up
Floral Garlands $35 per foot

I don't mind paying for CERTAIN arrangements that I know are required (Bridal, bridesmaids, garland), but that seems A LITTLE high for my taste. Is this normal?

Can anyone give me a pricelist for Kroger or Randalls? I love Central Market's selection, so maybe it is worth it... I just don't want to pay $1k for flowers, I'd love to get them for $300-$500.

COORDINATION
-------------------

I don't need any extra help with planning, I only need help with day-of coordination, but here's the catch. I don't want to pay someone over $300 for the day of my wedding. I'm mainly looking for someone who will make sure everything is setup to my specifications and things are in order. I don't need help on "how to cut a cake" or how to walk down the aisle. I hope this makes sense... Perhaps a simple Event Coordinator can help with this? I just need someone within MY budget. I just got an estimate for $750!!!! Ridiculous!!! I understand they are pro's, but WOW.

The flowers sound a bit much. Have you contacted Sabrina with Always Floral? Her prices are AMAZING!!!

We are using DJ services through JM Productions. Tish, the co-owner is my day of coordinator and she is under $300 -- she is there to just help transition of things and makes sure everything goes smoothly. I know they have those services available, just not sure if you have to have a DJ package to go with but I would definitely check it out.

As far as day-of-coordinators, I would really suggest you go to the Bridal Extravaganza and ask around. When I was interested in one, I was quoted around 250.00 for just the day of.

And now we are as one

If you are DIY type of gal then you can save loads of money of Flowers.  You can go to krogers on the night before your wedding and pic out the flowers that you like.  You can them make your own florals.  Go to YouTube to find video on how to do this.  Michaels and Hobby Lobby will have everything you need.  You can do a test run and do some florals... your total floral budget should be cut in half, if not more.  Good Luck.

I would suggest checking out an all inclusive venue....they usually offer the discounts in the pricing for using their specified vendors (which is why it is all inclusive) and they also usually offer a "day of" event coordinator.
    Good luck
