put your left hand in...

Are you left or right handed or ambidextrous? is anyone in your family left handed?
Do you like it? or even care?

I am VERY left handed and left footed.  So is my Dad and my aunt (although we do not share genetics).  I am secretly willing one of my nieces or nephews to be left handed.  :)

Most days I actually like being left handed, but it is a pain when eating next to a righty.  There is also a lot of "discrimination" against lefties.  I say discrimination lightly because I typically dont think its concious, but some things just don't work correctly for lefties

example 1: can openers. intentional discrimination I think not, but they suck as a leftie

You know, I was once told that there is a higher-than-the-population average of left-handed people who are either (a) geniuses or (b) in prison.  I figure that means that all lefties are brilliant, and some are just so smart they get themselves into trouble.  :)

When I was in college they renovated the massive classroom in one building (200+ seats).  They accidentally ordered 85% left-handed desks instead of 85% right!  Was quite a surprsie when they arrived.

well I am not in prision ;)  haha!

That pretty funny about desk order.  We have a massive lecture hall which SUCKS terribly for soo many reasons.  but it has not a single left handed desk in it.  I take up 2 seats and use the desk from the chair to my left.

ps I officially suck and livening this board up.  we need some entertainment here!

I'm a righty. My mom is a lefty and she did a doozie to me and my 3 siblings while teaching us to write. haha I'm the only one with legible handwriting.  We were taught the left hand grip and positioning because she couldn't figure out how to show us using the right hand. haha

I'm a lefty and yes, we are geniuses!   ;)  It does suck living in a righ-hander's world, but that's part of what allows us to be even more creative, the fact that we find ways to make it more accommodating for us.  In college, I always grabbed the desk next to me and used it to write on.  If professors had issues, I told them that they then needed to provide me with a left-handed desk.  So they hushed up pretty quickly.  :p  In auditorium style classrooms, I used the pop up desk that was on my left side.
My dad is left-handed as well, so I'm hoping more of my nephews or niece are left-handed!
