Hotel Reservations

So, I am wanting to call around and find the best prices for rooms for OOT-guests, but I don't know if I should get a hotel near my ceremony venue or my reception venue.

My ceremony is going to be at U of H, and my reception is going to be at Brady's Landing. Does anybody know of a good place around either of those venues that perhaps they used? Or do you have a personal preference as to which venue the hotel should be by?

We are having a Sunday wedding which ends at 7, so I am not too worried about people being drunk and needing to be close to their hotel...

Any input is appreciated!

Maybe pick a central location?  I don't know where Brady's Landing is, but UH is close to downtown, so maybe go with that. 

The Magnolia Hotel always has good deals...I've found it to be one of the less expensive hotels downtown and it's really nice...at least in my opinion...

Isn't there a Hilton Hotel on campus?

Call the Greather Houston Convention and Visitors Bureau. http://www.visithoustontexas.com/

They have someone in the tourism department that deals with smaller-scale events like family reunions and weddings (as opposed to big conventions).

They will put out a bid to hotels in the areas you specify and let you know what comes back. Basically they do the work for you!
