rehearsal dinner and after party

I'm looking for a nice restaurant to have our rehearsal dinner.  Between $$-$$$ in price, around $50/person including appetizer/dinner/dessert/drinks.  Preferrably Midtown/Galleria area and with a private room.  Has anyone had somewhere that thye really liked??

We also wanted to have an after-party after our wedding, preferrably upscale/swanky bar type atmosphere so we can hang out with our out of town guests.  Any suggestions?

    Galleria - I suggest Maggiano's. They have a nice private room. If you want something more casual, there is also Los Cucos.

    After party - Where is your wedding? It will be easier to give you after party ideas if I know what part of town you will be in :)

    We are using The Hoffheinz house for our rehearsal dinner. Check out the website and see if that is what you are looking for.

    We looked at The Grotto for our RD but we were getting married downtown and didnt want our guests to travel to the Galleria area, especially our OOT guests. They have a private room and should be within that budget

    We had our rehearsal dinner at Patrenella's (near Washington).  We had a private room and the per person charge before drinks was $40 I think.  This included appetizers, family style dinner, and dessert.  It worked out really well and our guests seemed to enjoy it.  I know it's not the Galleria or Midtown...but it's not too far away from either of those areas.

    Maggiano's is a great place to have something like that.
