Marriage License Question

I am going to ask when we go file for the license this week, but  I was wondering if you ladies knew the answer to this question.

I live in Walker County, so I am planning on getting my marriage license from here. Is the license from this county good for my wedding which will be in Harris county?

I am assuming yes, but I just want to make sure.

Thanks in advance.

Yes in Texas you can get it from any county.

I think it has to be filed in the same county in which you applied for the license.

I remember the post a while back, about getting it from a county with a cute marriage license. HA!

I know! I remember that one too, but for some reason the search function only goes so far back. Ho-hum.

but I do know you can pick it up in one county, get married in another county, I just think you need to have to submit it (after the wedding) in the original county

Yes, you can get your license from any county in Texas, that's why this state rocks! haha.

Unless you are dead set on Walker County, I suggest Fort Bend County's license. It's really pretty!!! My officiate had a book full of them from a bunch of counties in Texas. San Antonio had some pretty ones too, but thats too far to drive.

any county in Texas is fine...i'm getting married in Austin, but i live here..i'll just get mine in Harris, since that's the county i live in. i almost thought about Travis County, but i decided to make it easy. whatever works. :)
