I got married on September 25, 2010 at Briscoe Manor. The wedding went perfectly and I would not have changed anything about the evening.
Paperdolls (Photographer) - A+++++++ Donna is absolutely amazing. She takes unbelievable photos and is so sweet. (you can see some of our pictures on her blog:
www.paperdollshouston.blogspot.com Sims-High wedding) I would definetaly hire her again in a heart beat. I can't say enough kind things about her. She is just absolutely amazing at her job. I am amazed everytime I see what photos she captured. I can't even put into words how great a photographer (and person) Donna is.
LG Entertainment (DJ) - A++++++ Lewis is another amazing vendor. I would definately use him again. Everytime I looked at the dj booth, Lewis had a smile on his face. He did a terrific job with everything.
Your Beautiful Face - A++++ Leah and her assistants were amazing. I loved the way I looked. She is a very kind and sweet person who I would use her again (and recommend her). Her prices are very reasonable and she was great at her job. I don't usually wear makeup, so she was able to make me look great, without making me look like a different person. She made sure I felt beautiful on my wedding day.
Princess Bridal - A+++ I got my dress here and Denise is a joy to work with. I absolutely loved my experience here. Their seamstress is amazing too.
A&A Video (Videographer) - ??? I haven't received my wedding video yet, but they were nice to deal with at the wedding. Once I get the video I will let you all know what their rating is.
Cakes by Gina - A+ The cake looked and tasted amazing. I had drawn out (I'm a terrible artist too) what I wanted the cakes to look like and I think they did a terrific job at making it look like I wanted. I got lots of compliments on my cakes (especially the hunting themed grooms cake).
Flowers - A+++++ A family member did my flowers and I think she did an amazing job. If anyone wants her information, just let me know. She does flowers for weddings, but isn't a giant business. She did a wonderful job. I loved my flowers.
Briscoe Manor - A+ My day of coordinator (Stephanie) was one of the sweetest people I've met. She was more than happy to help me with whatever I needed. Briscoe also helped my parents load up everything into the car. They helped make sure everything went smoothly and I had a no stress day (which I did). I can actually say I enjoyed my wedding and never felt overwelmed. Stephanie is great at her job.
Behind the Bash - B This is the mandatory caterer for Briscoe. Their food was terrific, but I paid $5 per person (plus $100 for someone to man it)for a chocolate fountain, and after 1.5 hours (4 hour total reception) into my reception there was no fruit left to dip into the chocolate. The worst part is that we had less people than what we paid for, so they should have had MORE than enough. I had planned on this being what people snacked on for the rest of the evening since they take the food to the back after everyone has eaten. Since there was no food at the chocolate fountain, there was nothing for people to snack on. Yeah the chocolate might be pretty to look at, but I want food to dip into it. I think it was sad (and very embarrassing) that they ran out. If you do use Behind the Bash, DO NOT get the chocolate fountain.
