Day of Coordinator

I'm meeting with Andria from Infinite Events next week!  I'm hoping to hire her as my day of coordinator.  Naturally my fiance thinks this is an unnecessary expense.  Is anyone else having a DOC or am I being crazy?

No! You are not being crazy. This was by far the wisest investment we made! After all the money and months of planning, it is definitely worth it. You and your groom want peace of mind and a stress free day. Truth be told my fiance didn't think it was a necessary expense either but my DOC impressed him so much, he changed his mind. The ladies at Gracie Lou Events assured him that if any problem should arise, they would take care of it. They also handled the logistics of a very complicated cultural wedding. As my DOC, they have checked in on my throughout the planning process, given me expert advice and even vendor recs. I can't thank them enough.

As for Andria, I've heard only positive things about her. She was also wonderful to meet (outside of business).

I'm using Stephanie Frazier Grimm of Couture Parties in Newport, RI for my Month-Of coordination.  I feel really at ease that she'll be helping me & my wild family!!!  :)

It's definitely necessary! My FI haggled with me a bit too, but he knows it's going to save me from stressing out on the day of. I'm using Becky Pellegrino of Aisle Coordinate!

Definately do it!  I hired Judy Carrol from Papers in Newport and it was the best spent money.  I didn't have to worry about a thing come time for the rehearsal, day of wedding and day after wedding.  My father questioned why we needed a coordinator for the weekend, he said he would take care of everything, he questioned this for 8 months and come time for the wedding weekend he couldn't live without her. She did everything, from assuring we kept the rehearsal dinner moving along, passing out pashmina's at the wedding, telling the band they weren't to play during dinner, carrying the flowers back to my parents house after the wedding to name a few tasks.   My dad hadJudy  withdrawals the Monday after the festivities.  I say go for it!

I don't think it's a waste of money at all!  It's given me such piece of mind that the Gracie Lou ladies will be there on the day of my wedding to help me out and make sure that things run smoothly.

We used Andria as our DOC and couldn't have been happier.  She was wonderful and made the day a lot easier and was worth every penny.

We used Jessica Castiglia and she was fantastic.  I agree with all the other smart ladies on this board it was money well spent.  I know its tough when the expenses start adding up but trust me you won't be disapointed later with this expense.  There are so many little details that add up if you don't have someone professionally helping you.

Do it.  My biggest regret about my wedding day was not having a DOC.  There were little glitches that went wrong that I think a DOC could have either prevented or handled without me knowning/get stressed about.  My fiance made the same argument yours is and talked me out of hiring one...I wish I had not listened to him!

    Good luck with your planning!
