rants/raves: Hotel Providence

Hi ladies,

I am considering the Hotel Providence as a reception site.  Does anyone have any reviews on it?  I've been inside, but never for a wedding.  I'm thinking of the larger ballroom, not the Aspire resturaunt.

I work near there. It's a very tight spot--it's on a such a narrow sidestreet that is a busy sidestreet.

We looked primarily for downtown Prov for our wedding. The location turned me off although i did like that it was a newer hotel. I just couldn't imagine how they'd handle 75 cars or so of people trying to get into the hotel for the reception.

I'm having my wedding there in August, and I can not rave enough about them.  We are having a party of 140, and all of our guest will be taken care of with free valet. We are having cocktail hour in the bar, dining in Aspire, and dancing outside.  We have the ballroom on hold in case of rain.

Our guests will be eating in a Z shape, but we don't mind.  It's so beautiful already inside that we liked the different feel.  However, you can have everyone eat in the ballroom if you'd like a different feel.

The tasting was above and beyond anything I have ever experienced - it lasted 6 1/2 hours!  The chef came out with each course and went into full detail about what was in it, and wanted to know what we thought.

We are treated like a king and queen each time we go to the Hotel for a meeting, and the staff is incredibly easy to work with.  I highly recommend meeting with both Rhonda AND Patrick. Rhonda is friendly, but a little flighty - whereas Patrick is always on point.

Good luck, and feel free to email me if you have any questions.
