I had read on one of the boards that a knottie received an invite with no return address asking for the RSVPs to be via e-mail about 2 weeks prior to the wedding and stating they only wanted cash gifts.  Umm ... to each their own.  

Anyways, my FI gets a TEXT with a photo of the invite saying "sorry I couldnt get this to you on time, but let me know if you make it.  I need to know right now.  And let me know if any of you guys plan on bringing a guest"

1) The wedding is next weekend

2)"If any of you guys plan on bringing a guest" totally means this was a MASS text!!! LoL

3) PS It's black tie

Seriously? That is completely unacceptable in my mind.  I know some people do have RSVP's online through website and such now to save some money.  But a text with a weeks notice is not appropriate.

OMG the horror!!! A mass text LMAO! This is to funny to be real or so you would think. I cant believe someone having a black tie formal event would ever even consider doing this. Wow some people really surprise me these days!!!!

SERIOUSLY!! Usually the bride knows better than to allow that to happen.  Sorry but if I am having a "black tie" wedding, I am not allowing any mass texts being sent out.

Your FI just got this mass text invite, and the wedding is next weekend?? Sounds like a B list invite to me, and I definitely wouldn't be going out of my way to attend.

That is RIDICULOUS! We are doing the online/phone RSVPs, but our wedding is very low key, definitely NOT black tie! Cuh-razy!

Wowza!  I saw an episode of Bridezilla where the bride wouldn't let anyone be involved in planning(of course), but then SHE forgot to send the invitations out so 2 days before the wedding, her parents were calling everyone on the guestlist.  Horrible.
